If u (owner) and tenant use the same address to register your child within 1 km of Nanyang primary (or any school) : when they churn out computer report, both your children name will appear on the discrepancy report. Both will be called up by school, why the same address bring used for P1 registration

In this case, the tenant is not at fault right? Supposing I rent the unit for the purpose of putting my child in the school, I have right to do so even though unit doesn't belong to me.

Yes, in this case, the tenant is right to use the rental address for P1 registration as his family is occupying it. Owners not staying in their condo are not supposed to use the address for P1 registration.

In any case if not sure, go to MOE for their assessment on case-by-case basis.

Is the new 30 month rule very sudden or was this rule printed in the P1 registration brochures handled out to the K2s?

Not sure if home owners are aware that they are also affected by the new rule and not just tenants and landlords using rental address.

Those who stay in newer estate like Seng Kang or Punggol, they cannot sell their flats after they meet MOP of 5yrs, they need to continue staying for another 2.5years, cannot upgrade or downgrade their flats now.

The owner is at fault, bec the tenant already staying in the rented unit.

But the owner not staying there, bec rent out to tenant
School will question owner : since already rent out to the tenant, then why still use the same address as tenant, to register child into the school ?

By right, the tenant has the right to register child using rental address…since he is staying there. Not only that, condo facilities (if any) are also for the tenant to use during lease period. I think moe can consider looking into this issue.

Hi, my daughter is already in P1 this year. Ok for us to

move house? We got in last year thru 2C, 1-2km with distance priority. Just wondering if this 30 months ruling affect existing students as well. Thanks!

No, this rule is not meant to affect students who are already in Primary School.

Thanks. Hope existing students won’t be penalized for moving house.
Hi parents,
I am in a strange situation . I currently am overseas on work and renting out my unit in pasir ris till Dec 26th of 2015 . I will have a child undergoing P1 registration exercise in this JUly who currently stays with my grand parents . We plan to move to pasir ris in January 2016 . Can I use my pasir ris address for P1 registration exercise ? For sure we will stay in the pasir ris place going forward for more than 30 months . Anything special I need to do ?

Thanks a lot and all the best to all parents and children in this years P1 registration exercise

It's not a problem at all to use your pasir ris address since you own it, as long as your child stay there from P1 till end P2.

                        :?
The 30months is counted from the point of registration or P1 Jan onwards? If the former, it will become an offense to use an address you are not staying there (rented out till dec 2015). Better check with MOE any SD form you need to sign.
