Straffan23, my maid seems not even able to mop floor everyday cos sometimes my 13mo super active n refuse to stay in the playpen. Basically she mention tough to do work when bb is awake. The routine u mention makes sense to me, but my maid sometimes can't fullfil . Sigh, also can't reprimand too much since she takes care of my bb now . Your maid taking care of ur bb too?

Baby sleeps with me. Maid wakes up at 6am. Breakfast, mop the floor, shower. By the time everyone else wakes up at 7am, the floor is clean. We make our own breakfast of toasts or bread with jam.

I found that it is best not to put too much trust in new maids. It is like putting too much at stake to let them take care of a baby all day long. My baby went to half day infantcare. Maid fetches her home at 1pm. The good thing with this arrangement is that I can change this to full-day if I happen to sack my maid. Also, that half day the maid can do marketing, cleaning, washing. No excuse for work not done. Also, baby learns more and plays more at infantcare or childcare compared to with the maids - the ones I had had were more interested in themselves and washing than in a young baby.

        Hi All,

It's my first time to hire a maid in SG. May I know how long does it usually take, from contract-signing to maid pick-up?
        Thanks All 🙂

My bb used to be at nanny care but recently found that nanny \"s hygiene level is poor & hence switch to maid to take care. My bb will be gg to toddler class , full day cc in 6months time. Finger cross the maid is able to make it during this 6 months time. And is thinking if I still want to keep a maid after this. Agree on your point on sending LO for half day cc. But you let your maid fetch your bb? Are you comfortable with that. Once maid went out they always up to something .

            Dear all

Many cruel Singapore employers abuse Myanmar maids until Myanmar Government bans Myanmar maids coming in to work in Singapore .

But many other cruel Singapore employers ill-treat their Indonesian maids . Last month, Straits Times reported 5 Singapore employers, 1 man & 4 women physically abused their maids and were charged in court. But let's look at a more severe case of ill-treatment in many manners of an Indonesian maid, Supinah who was rescued by neighbour and NGO TWC2 detailed below which is not reported in any Singapore newspapers.

Yes,. Myanmar maids should be banned. We had 2 and they all lied about their educational status and age. Their ignorance, greediness to get rich quick has caused employers great troubles and inconvenienced. Yes, do banned them until they learned that Singapore is not a place for them to get rich quick easily.

Recently on 23/05/15 had signed up a transfered Indonesian maid with this G… Employment Agency at Changi Road with agency fee of $850. After a week the maid requested to go back to the agency because she say she cannot work in Chinese family as she cannot do prayer and wear Tudong so we sent her back on 01/06/15 which is only 7 days under our employment. We had been trying to locate the boss to discuss on the refund, but despite our several calls and messages the boss of the company just ignore and never call back and reply at all. And until now we still couldn’t talk to her. The office have only one staff to entertain us saying the boss said can only refund 20% of the agency fee which is only $170 even if we not getting any replacement from them. Can u imagine is only 7 days employment and she is the one that wated to go back to the agency. And until now the maid have not found any employer yet, and if she is not being transferred, my new maid cannot come to my place and I have to continue paying her levy. This agency is really horrible and how can they do business like that… Planning to make police report and file to case and small claim.

I need all mommies advise on this matter.

              Thank you.

                Hi,
You can always go to MOM online and cancel her work permit. You don't have to wait for the maid agency.

My friend just approached an agency to do everything for her. I think I read it is not difficult though troublesome if you DIY. Your maid must be able to follow your instruction to channel whatever you need to SG and vice versa. Google and perhaps you get more detailed writeup on this matter.

Is there still outstanding loan ? If yes, you will have to return the maid to agency. You can choose not to get a replacement from them though.

Otherwise, you can approach another agency for your new maid n either engage them to terminate the WP of current maid+buy air ticket etc. If not, you can easily DIY on the termination part back to back when new maid arrived.

                      Hi,

I have a new Filipino maid who has been with me for just 3 months. She was ex-Saudi. I let her use her own mobile phone during the night to contact her family. However, I just found out that she has been using my kids mobile phone to call Philippines. It's around $120 and I'm still waiting for this month bill to get the total amount. When I confronted her, she denied but after I showed her my phone bills, she admitted it. When I asked her why she denied at the first time, she said she's scared. She's now still working with me but I've banned overseas call for all my kids mobile phone and land line.

I'm scared since I can't trust her anymore so I plan to get a new maid. I plan to take transfer maid since I need to have maid straight away given that I have 2 kids, 8 and 10 yo and 1 small dog. How is the procedure for this?

Note: I won't get back to her agency to get a new maid. I was having my 1st maid for this agency 3 years ago and she was very good, however she asked to go back to PH to take care of her kids. I got my 2nd maid from the same agency, however I returned her after 2 months since her performance is quite bad given the warnings and instructions. My ex-Saudi maid is my 3rd maid from the same agency, replacement of my 2nd maid.

Please give me some advise. Thanks for all your help.

How to check your maid has left the country or not after you cancelled her work permit and pass her back to the agency?

I don’t wish to call the agency anymore.
