Looking at the stats, It looks like I stand a chance for 2016 registration for 2017 P1 entry either in ACS Primary or SJI. But my husband thinks otherwise and wants to move in with my parents plc in Serangoon so tt we stand a better chance for St Gabs.
Can I hear from the experts on what you think is a good idea?
Ballot under Phase 2C for ACS pri or SJI or move into Serangoon for St Gabs.

Why bother? Historically, St Gabriel goes all the way to Phase 2CS. Even for last year, all applicants got in at 2C. So there is no need to change your address, nor move into your parents' place to get in.

Why bother? Historically, St Gabriel goes all the way to Phase 2CS. Even for last year, all applicants got in at 2C. So there is no need to change your address, nor move into your parents' place to get in.

If St Gab's historically goes into 2CS, then go for balloting at ACS or SJI Jr, you may just stand a chance...

I have a place in Rulang under Phase 1. However, I am interested in St Marg and can only apply under Phase 2C, more than 2km. I was told I need to give up the confirmed place to have a chance in St Marg. It is pretty risky if I give up Rulang and end up having to go through balloting. Worst if I didn’t get through balloting. Is there any way I can know if it is going to be balloting for 2C before the closing of 2C? Are the schools strict in the closing time?

Of course they are going to be strict with the timing. If you want to take the risk, then you have to bear the consequences. Like being balloted out and having to go through 2CS. Just stay with rulang.

rulang is a good sch .. do reconsider ..

it’s not worth taking the risk.
based on 2014, there was balloting for those staying 1-2km.
In 2013, balloting for those staying more than 2km.

But why give up? Distance? Quite wasted isn't it? So many ppl trying to get in and you taking the risk to give up?

Phase 1 is guaranteed. Many parents try to register their kids in Rulang.

let your daughter start primary 1 there…if you still want to try for St Margaret later, you can call the school to put your daughter on wait list.
