ds1 was reading the wordings on the back of his compo assessment book and suddenly exclaimed....

ds1  : why would pupils find the book interesting?! it is a compo book!!

it was printed on the back of the book to describe the contents that 'pupils will find this book interesting and helpful'. :heresmyfish:
my dd1 would just throw the book aside after looking at the title.

ds2 did a compo assessment recently about a scene on a crowded train, with an old lady standing, 2 adults (a man and a woman) sitting and a boy giving up his seat. this is an extract of his compo....

Two stops later, an old woman boarded the train. She had no place to sit. My mother pretended she did not see the old woman and just sat there lazily. So I had no choice but to give my seat to the elderly.

          :scared:

he even drew some sweat droplets on the woman (supposed to be me) and kept giggling as he wrote the compo.

seems like he likes to find http://www.kiasuparents.com/kiasu/forum/viewtopic.php?t=2770&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=50 to 'get back at me without getting into trouble'. :heresmyfish:

how ds1 behave in front of me and in front of his dad is totally different. how he behave in front of his teachers and in front of his dad is the same. ie i get to see his nonsense every other day. he said it is cos he feels very at ease in front of me...... 😐

sure...ds1 gave me the green light to share this story with your dd1.

DD1 had this classmate called A last year who was very irritating cos he would go around bugging others to the point of bullying them. Needless to say, the others did not want to be his friend. DD1 and A had the misfortune of crossing paths. They have thus learned that it was best to avoid each other.

Yesterday, DD1, DD2 and I had lunch with my family. My sis had to go back to work after that and she was angry with a colleague of hers who \"fly airplane\" so I told her to tell him to go \"fly kite\". DD1 wanted to know what kind of guy this idiot was, that Ah Yi was so pissed with him.

                DD1: Who is this person?
Me: He is Ah Yi's colleague.
DD1: Why is Ah Yi so angry with him?
Me: Well... (wondering how to describe this guy's character to DD1) Remember your classmate, A?
                DD1: Uh-huh.
Me: Imagine A as an adult and you'll get this guy.
DD1: A will NEVER be an adult cos he's SO childish! (This came out from her mouth when I had barely finished my sentence.)
Me (thinking): :!: Wow! I was stunned by her response. (followed immediately by) That's my girl! πŸ˜‰

A few months back while I was reading the newspaper about the Tiger Woods saga, DD2, who was playing near me, (at that time she was 4 turning 5) suddenly blurted out: \"Golfer, you don't know what is love\"!

I was  :? How apt! How on earth did she know about the write-up I was reading? So I asked where did she learn that? ...and the answer?
\"Oh! That was what the King told Gothel (the witch) in Rapunzel (Barbie movie)!

She had watched the DVD of \"Barbie as Rapunzel\" a few days back, but I've no idea why or how that quote got into her head!

One fine day, while DD1 was singing loudly at home, DD2 suddenly exclaimed: \"Great singers don't need a chorus!\"

When we heard that, we were  ! Who taught her that? :? and it came out at the right time too!

When asked, she said innocently: \"That was from Barbie and the Diamond Castle, when .....\" and she continued to tell me it was Lydia, the evil muse who said it to Melody in the movie. I went to take a look at the DVD again and guess what, it really came from there!

Guess she had too much of Barbie already. πŸ˜›

Brought the kids out for a movie yesterday.

While walking from Marina Sq to Suntec, there were many people distributing flyers. I waved all of them off while DH accepted all of the flyers. DD observed this and asked me why I don’t take any of them. Told her most are junk anyway.

To which she said "oh yah, daddy loves to collect junk."
