Besides the schools, I would also look at the distance factor - how hard/easy is it to get to/from school each day. Both schools are popular in their own rights though I get the idea that ATS is more popular. NC has affiliation to NC Sec school right? I don't think ATS has. So that may be another consideration.

Then again, for ATS outside of 2km, I am not sure whether you will have the chance to ballot in 2B.

Do note that NC prI got no relationship to NC High. :thankyou:
Hi, may I know how to go about changing address to mum address? I also have a home in Punggol but most of the time I am staying with my mum as she takes care of my kids. Is there any time frame needed before p1 reg?
All you need to do is go to a police station or police post to change the address on your IC. Need to show some proof that you reside here. Phone bill, cable tv bill or utility charges under your name with the new address.
I think the time frame is as long as you can show the required address at registration will do. But you will have to retain the address 30 months post regisration.

If your mom is not working, she can sign a declaration as a guardian and you can register using her address.

Pls take note that per MOE:

"If statutory declaration is used, children who are registered using the address of either the grandparent or the parent’s sibling and residing within 1 km or between 1 km and 2 km from the school of choice are balloted together with the other children of the same citizenship residing between 1 km and 2 km"

Pls also take note of the 30 months new rule: "In addition, a child who gains priority admission into a school through distance category (including the eligibility to be balloted within those distance category) based on the child’s grandparent or parent’s sibling’s address is required to continue with the child-care arrangement at the address used for registration for at least 30 months, from the commencement of the P1 Registration Exercise on 2 July 2015"

In that case, it'll be better to change address if the distance is within 1 km. 🤷

You may wish to check this - http://www.kiasuparents.com/kiasu/content/queenstown to know about the balloting history for Fairfield.

Fairfield is a rather popular school in that area, based on the balloting history, balloting is required for SC citizens for 1-2km for past 3 years. Since you're SPR, the chance of your child getting into this school is rather slim unless there's very very few SC citizens applying under 2B.

The # of places has been rather fixed at 270 for past years, don't think MOE will increase the # of places esp since birth rate for tiger yr is lower. No one can predict # of applicants in any phase, can only monitor when the P1 registration starts.

I agree with the previous poster. Fairfield is a popular school. Many SCs couldn't even secure a place there, so it's safe to say that you have no chance. You could monitor the registration process, but I suggest that you get a 2nd and 3rd schools of choice ready. The safest is New Town, but you might still get a chance to secure s place in Queenstown.
