Please note if you use your parents' address through declaration form, you will only be eligible to ballot under 1-2 km even though they're staying < 1 km.sorry OT. I will be registering next yr and have narrowed down potential choices to:
1. Xinmin Pri (<1km); backup is Xinghua Pri (<1km)
2. Jurong Pri (<1km); backup ???
2a. Xinmin Pri (<1km); alternate 2C choice Jurong Primary (1-2km); backup is Xinghua Pri (1-2km)
3. Princess Elizabeth (<1km); backup ???
We will be registering in Phase 2C for all the above options. To explain the choices above, we have two residences that we can use. I can \"put\" my parents in one address and take the other, which is the scenario in 2a.
My question is - does anyone know of the relative quality of the above schools? Are they all comparable or does one of them have better attributes than the rest? I'm mostly concerned about having a conducive learning environment and access to a reasonable number of CCAs. Thanks.
edit - sorry salah.. PE pri is <1km. -
Dear mummies and Daddies,
I’m in a dilemma…pl help.
My child is due for P1 registration next year. I am still searching around the neighbourhood schools in Pasir Ris and happened to bound into this thread and seems like there are lots of parents facing similar issues when it comes to registration.
I am currently staying in Livia Condo and is within 1km of Elias Park and believe within 1km of Coral Primary too. Pl assist too as I am not sure of the MOE guidelines in terms of distance. I am interested in Pasir Ris Primary and wanted to enrol into their parent volunteer scheme, but received a letter from them about the letter of rejection. I am interested in St Hilda primary too.
So, among these schools, which is the preferred choice for my kid and the success application rate considering all factors such as distance, SAP, environment, facilities, transport, etc.
Please assist in this matter as I am really in a dilemma… -

Just the key words to make it easy for you:
I'm in a dilemma.....pl help.
\"Pl assist too as I am not sure of the MOE guidelines in terms of distance.\"
>> http://www.onemap.sg/index.html. Under Services - SchoolQuery. You will know which schools are within 1km of you.
\"parent volunteer scheme\"
>> Sorry, but I believe that boat had sailed. You are looking at starting from Phase 2C registration for next year. You can go back to either parents' alma mater, which would put your child in Phase 2A.
\"So, among these schools, which is the preferred choice for my kid and the success application rate\"
>> Preferred choice for your kid - dunno. You should know your kid better than we do. For success rate, you can refer to the http://www.kiasuparents.com/kiasu/content/singapore-primary-1-registration-school-balloting-history as a guide.
>> St Hilda, Pasir Ris Primary, White Sands are out for you because balloting is likely to occur < 1km in Phase 2C. Elias Park and Coral should be a breeze for you <1km. -

Hi
Have you used onemap to identify which schools are within 1km and between 1-2km?
Go to http://www.onemap.sg/index.html
use the SchoolQuery, find school near a building and click on your block. As there are a number of blocks in your condo, the distance from the school may slightly differ.
For those schools you are refering to,Coral primary is not fully subscribed by 2C and Elias Park has more take up rate.
Please refer to history: http://www.kiasuparents.com/kiasu/content/pasir-ris
You may have to drop St Hilda and Pasir Ris as it seems both are more than 2km from your home (if you are thinking of 2C for both schools).
Your area should also be near to tampines:
http://www.kiasuparents.com/kiasu/content/tampines
Please note that primary school registration doesn't start from phase 2C. It's very often parents doesn't consider the earlier phases like the parents' primary school that limit their own choices.
Anyway, use onemap to identify all the schools within the vicinity. Then look at the historical stats to mark out those under \"no chance\", \"need balloting\" and \"high chance\" (this can be quite certain but we name it high so that we don't jinx it :rotflmao: )
With the schools identified and classified, you may want to assess each of the schools by visiting them or ask on each of the school's thread to find out more.
The above can be a good starting point for you.
All the best! -
Dear Parents,
I have bought a yet to complete property which is within 1 km from the school I intend to register my gal. I have checked the MOE website which call for "certified true copy" of S&P agreement during registration. Anyone know the S&P has to be certified by which party? Lawyer? Developer? Thanks. -

I am not familiar with the schools as well. I am making references to the school based on take up rate and past statistics. You can refer to their website and the KSP school thread for more information.
Coral Primary has school tour on Wednesdays. the form can be found at their website.
http://www.coralpri.moe.edu.sg/
Elias Primay has a program called Elias Chinese Orchestra (in short ECHO)
http://www.eliasparkpri.moe.edu.sg/
You may like to check with the school directly on open house dates.
As for Poi Ching, if you are staying within 1km of Coral and Elias, it's likely you are staying more than 1km from Poi Ching, Poi Ching need balloting for those staying within 1km for the past 3 years. -
Hello, I have a boy born in 2010 as well. I am within 1km of temasek but seem that even 1km also have to ballot.
-
The reality of phase 2C. Nearly every school has balloting.
