I thought NYPS sets 80 hours for PV...didn't know there are other schools which set 80 hours too

not many schools do that lah. Mostly 40...a couple 60....but 80 really takes the cake.

Son’s school takes in limited PVs, so that it can take in all the kids at 2B…used to take many PV in earlier years but now it cuts down…there are times when there are insufficient PVs, so those chalking up hours will try to take up extra ‘jobs’ if school requests.

30 min!!! Aiyoh, wake up so early to do 30 min pv? It really speaks of the determination of the parent. Impressed. :celebrate: ...
thus there were parents dropping out after a few weeks.

30 min is actually good for me. Less disruption to my daily routines. 😄

For those doing PV, best is to check the chance of getting into Phase 2B. Noted some schools like South View where there is too many excess of PV that resulted have to ballot. 😛

Actually if you choose to go to a not too popular school then you don't have to PV. PV is only for those popular. So there is still a choice not complusory.

Was it during the 70s where pp would queue for days and days?

In 70\" we are still sau kou. Our parents just said the nearer the better. No need to walk so far. Can just run to school on a rainy day and don't have to carry umbrella.

Now the situation is different. Most parents are graduates and we have expectations. We want not only the better ones but the best.
