My DD weighs 23kg but she looks so thin to me. :(
My DS is 128cm but weighs only 22kg šŸ˜ž Any idea how I can 'fatten' him up? :?:

My son is on the \"big\" side. He weighs about 35~36kg and stands at 132 (+2) cm tall. Among his classmates (of similar height), he's comparatively meatier, though definitely doesn't fall in the \"fat\" category. But he's rather self conscious, trying to lose some weight now.

Looks like your kid is in the same category as mine who is 123cm and 27kg. I think I will make him do more skipping so that he can grow to 130cm and hopefully maintain his weight below 30kg. Luckily my boy is not the clumsy type and he likes sports. I suppose that is one reason why he has a good appetite most of the time ..

In our case, he is a mildly premature baby weighing 2.5kg at birth. Think my mum just has a way of bringing up chubby kids with her cooking that she now has a reputation and was approached by people to take care of their kids. My P3 girl is 140+cm and around 40kg. My K1 girl is 110+ and 24kg......and she was only 1.8kg at birth :faint: So yes, we've a weighty issue that daddy must monitor.
:!: Has your mom ever considered publishing a cook book for \"fattening\" up kids? It will definitely be a sellout! So, go chio chio her tonight if she has not started...

My K1 girl is also about 112cm but weighs only 20kg. No complaints from me though, but her dad wants to feed her more milk powder to pump her up more.

My SIL's son used to be big too. But ever since he started P5, his weight went down drastically. Now at P6, I think he can afford to put on some. So for my son, we are watching his diet but at the same time, must leave some to take the upper primary 'stress' in future. šŸ˜‰
BTW, my son is not the tallest. I was surprised to find another 2 boys who are taller than him.
That's so true. People always comment my kids are tall for their age. But when I look around, many kids are pretty tall too, including girls.
He looks like a P4 but still behave like P2. Sometimes it's not good as people expected him to be more mature given his built
Can't agree more with you on this. Sometimes, I'm so wary of him playing kids of his own age. Especially when he was still a preschooler. With his towering built, he can be easily mistaken as bullying the smaller built kids. So, I told him to stay away from them, especially those that enjoy some rough play.

Aside from eating more carbo stuff, have you tried milk powder such as Pediasure?

Yes that is the problem we faced too. Just because he is bigger he will definitely be \"stronger\" than those small sized boys. But it doesn't mean that he did it on purpose. They still don't know how to control themselves/ their strength when they get excited while playing....

Yup, they are both in the same category. Isn't it good that they still have some chubby cheeks? šŸ™‚

If we watch their diets, I'm sure they will slim down by end of the year. According to my pd, once they start school, they usually grow vertical more than horizontal. Otherwise, get them to play some sports. Sooner or later, they will slim down. Not sure about you, but I think I'll miss those chubby cheeks then. šŸ˜„

He has been drinking Pediasure for the last 5 years (since he was 3 yrs old). Stop drinking recently as he was not showing much progress + I think he really got tired of drinking the same milk

Exactly! And small built (and I mean really small) doesn't mean weak too. I really hate those \"you are hurting my kid\" 's look. Luckily, my son doesn't have too many of such friends. And in school, he just stays away from them (those smaller built kids who enjoy rough plays).

If you are, then it's probably genes and high metabolism rate. I was rather 'skinny' when I was young too. As long as he's healthy and eating well, stay cool. šŸ˜„

Thanks Chamonix, yes, both DH & me are slim. Its just that he's growing taller but not putting on weight as much so now he looks really skinny. Heartache each time he takes off his clothes, can really 'count' the number of ribs bones he has 😢
