Dear Mummies and Daddies,
I’m in a dilemma. Pl help.
My child is due for P1 registration next year. I am still searching around the neighbourhood schools in Pasir Ris and happened to bound into this thread and seems like there are lots of parents facing similar issues when it comes to registration.
I am currently staying in Livia Condo and is within 1km of Elias Park and believe within 1km of Coral Primary too. Pl assist too as I am not sure of the MOE guidelines in terms of distance. I am interested in Pasir Ris Primary and wanted to enrol into their parent volunteer scheme, but received a letter from them about the letter of rejection. I am interested in St Hilda primary too.
So, among these schools, which is the preferred choice for my kid and the success application rate considering all factors such as distance, SAP, environment, facilities, transport, etc.
Please assist in this matter as I am really in a dilemma… -

Also visit the school if you can. Or at least sand outside the school and see if you like the building, security, mannerism of kids while in the school etc. May help you decide. -

Using One Map and Block 75 Livia as a gauge, the following applies to youDear Mummies and Daddies,

Within 1km - Meridian Pri Sch, Park View Pri Sch, Elias Park and Coral Pri
1 - 2km - Gongshang, Tampines North, Casuarina Pri, Loyang Pri and Poi Ching.
I suggest that you make your choice wisely and use those schools within 1 km to your advantage. Elias Park is clearly one of the better ones but they are also very hot. You may refer to the statistics for 2015 Pri 1 registration as a gauge. My DS went to one of the schools thus I am rather familiar with them. As for those 1-2km, the better ones are Gongshang and Poi Ching. However your chances are rather slim as historically only those within 1km will get to ballot. Same thing for St Hilda's Pri Sch. How I know is because I have just registered my DD for SHPS and will be going for ballot tomorrow.
Hope the above helps! -
Porky Pig,
Thanks for the reply. Few more questions For Elias Park, Poi Ching and GongShang as follows:-
1) any enrichment classes/services?
2) transport services?
3) CCA?
4) strong areas like Chinese orchestra, sports, etc.
5) tuition class?
Pl assist.Porky Pig:

Hi does anyone knows how long does a principal stay after being posted to the school ?
-
HELP!
I have a big headache sigh...
Our 1st born is a boy and we would need to register him for P1 next year for 2017 intake.
I was from an all girls' school. Hubby's school (cant recall which boys' school) has since closed down. We found out that his old school is affiliated to TKPS but its too far as we are staying at Hougang.
We are very interested in Holy Innocent Primary as:
1. its a mixed school - his little sister could join him in 3 years time
2. its close to the afterschool caregiver's house - His grandma.
We are however 1.6km from the school.
The kids grandma (my mom) is the current caregiver and she stays within 0.5km of the school.
My understanding is that whether I use her address (as grandparent who is a caregiver) or my own address - we will be under the same Phase 2C - meaning we stand practically no chance of getting in based on past track records?
Am I right or am I just getting confused haha
Should I even bother looking at HIPS or even getting a new place near the school ? Sigh.. -
mommychia:
If you look at historical data for HIPS in Phase 2C, it's high chance that balloting occurs within 1 km and if you're lucky you'll get to ballot for 1-2 km. Please note that if you use your parents' address as the caregiver, you'll be balloted in 1-2 km even though your parents live within 1 km.HELP!
