My ds school doesn't give a lot of hw. Most of the time, no hw. Last wk, also no hw except 1 compo. Since the beginning of the yr, no supp class except science. Think only few lessons for term 2 & term 3 each. Even hcl also, 2 lessons cancelled & 2 lessons early released last term. So my son is very free everyday.
really sad...no life of their own. next psle, things will only get worse.Ja3:
I agreed with the above, pity my ds.... Dn even have spare time to do what he likes.
after supplementary lessons, daughter is so tired. but homework still needs to be done as it is due the next day. revision still as per normal.
My friend's ds school gave so much hw. He stays back 3-4 times a week. So I m a bit worried on how my ds school is preparing the kids for psle. Another thing which worries me is the exam papers set by my ds school. I am comparing my ds school papers with 2 schools within the neighborhood. Ours were easier. No wonder so easy to get 90 & above. In p5, it is no longer easy to get even A. So told my son to minus 10 marks aft x 0.72.

I'm curious what is the mentality of the teacher ? is it they don't want to mark so many homework hence didn't give much homework ? but of course those teachers whom give a lot of homework doesn't mean that they are hardworking and good too just like my child's teacher. Every day also got homework but didn't seem to teach especially on English and Chinese compo and Science. So, we parents have to 包山包海

I really hv no idea. Maybe they r in p5, so the teachers bo chap. Moreover, his p5 teachers might not be teaching my son’s class again nx yr. So none of their business la nx yr.

Re English & Chinese compo. I just asked my son. He did 1 English compo last term, excluding last week's hw. No Chinese compo at all. Really can't blame my son if he can't write. If send to enrichment class, they also do not do compo every week. If sign up for extra compo class for both CL & EL :moneyflies:

I dread term 4.. exams are 3 weeks away. So many things but so little time. PSLE will soon be at our doorstep. :nailbite:

Doesn't sound good at all. You need to check if the P6 kids had extra remedial / supplementary classes, especially during the March and June holidays, this year. Speak to other parents. In the meantime, get organise! If your boy is weak in Chinese compo, retrieve all essays already done (put in one file) during the enrichment class & school and get him to revise. -

I start to panic after hearing how my friends' kids schools prepare for psle. One teacher is so good. Started watsapp group for science & another watsapp group for maths for students to ask questions. My friend also told me her ds school teachers stay back after school for students to ask questions. However, the latter didn't work out. Because some parents treat it as student care. These students were playing, chatting & disturbing others. But we are all neighborhood schools, not top schools.
I did see p6 students in school during holidays but not sure whether they are attending supplementary or remedial

I saw the dates earlier in school calendar…so confirmation in black & white does not come as a surprise. psle has to take a backseat in the meantime. let’s get through p5 first. -
