      Hi cmeilim,

Oh, I was not informed when I registered my boy in Aug. Only received acceptance letter from Palm View with Proteach application form so thought this is done in mid Oct when we submit our documents.
Did you do online registration for P1? We registered our boy at the school itself and asked about the student care. And so we were given a form to fill in and submit there and then.

I understand fr my hubby who attended the briefing at Proteach that there are about 50 places offered for P1s and all fully allocated. They prioritise according to those families who are receiving Govt subsidy, whether they have existing sibling in Proteach, whether both parents are working or not, whether the families have domestic helper or grandparent who can be caregiver or not, and household income levels.

            cheyanne mummy:

Any parents here sending their kids to student care?

May I know which student care you use?
As this school only ends at 2pm, is there any problems so far for kids that reach the student care later than their peers?
As in do they still have time to bath and eat compared to those that reach the student care ard 1.45pm.
Any kind parents able to enlighten?
Am so worried now on how to work out the transportation for my girl. 🤷

            Hi cheyanne mummy

            Just sharing what I know.

The student care in located inside the primary school premise. It is pro-teach. I heard Palm View teachers will be there to coach the students in the student care (the teachers will take turn). So, all the children will be from Palm View. The student care looks good. The only problem is there are limited vacancies and priority is given to lower household income family.

If school bus, I assume Anchorvale is as far as Compassvale to Palm View. Then the school bus will come at around 6.50am to pick the kids up. School starts at ard 7.45am for assembly. Lessons start at 8am. I am not sure about the timing for going home though. I intend to try out the various options when school starts for my girl.

            Cheers.

Hi parents.. it has been a while.

Just to clarify that Pro-Teach Student Care is a privately-run centre and has no affiliations with the school. Hence the Palm View teachers will not come into the centre to take turn and coach the students in Pro-Teach. The role of the student care is to ensure that all homeworks are completed. Student care teachers are not required to check and make sure the homework done is correct because it is not a tuition centre. On top of that, Pro-Teach has their own routine and enrichment activities throughout the week.

            Hope this helps.

              Hi Parents,

I have some questions for P3 parents whose kids participate in the school CCA.
Does the school allow your child to join 2 CCA?
eg, 1 sport and 1 club activity? Are there any crash in the CCA time table?
              Thanks for reading.

                  Hi all,

The haze will probably last till Nov, Indonesia gov announced that the air management will be effective after 3 years. Although the teacher informed me that they keep the classroom window closed already. But our kids still study in a smoky environment. We sit in the air-conditioned office to work everyday, but our kids are breathing dirty air in the classroom daily. This is really bad for health.

Below is TODAY share a voice from a parents, I feel it is very reasonable.

                  http://m.todayonline.com/voices/why-not-put-air-purifiers-all-primary-classrooms

Since MOE cannot respond to the haze situation in a timely manner, as a parent, I don't mind share the cost of purchasing the air purifier or the cost of renting an air purifier.

Please share your suggestion to make our kids study environment better.

You mean to submit documents for parents who applied online? And we know the class already? I am going down later during lunch time.
