Thanks a lot, Artume.

As for the timetable, if the NUSH modules clash with NUS module, will NUSH \"accommodate\" NUS timetable ? DS timetable is almost full till 6 pm everyday. Thanks.
No problem!

Discuss with the relevant subject teacher, some students can attend the missed lesson in another class, some have a short remedial with the teacher, some just miss nush lessons and self study.

But then some lectures in NUS aren't terribly important, depends on the situation. I've also skipped nus lecture for school ones before.

Thanks a lot ! So can skip lectures but not the tutorials right ? I think must \"clock in\" certain no of attendance right ? ๐Ÿ˜‚

For Some NUS modules, the lecturers will post video recording of their lectures in the internet, students who missed the lecture can catch up with via the videos.

Some modules do have practical, from DC feedback, most NUSH students have no problems with the lab work.

Puzz...zzle:
Thanks Artume, scm292, dagong99 for the advice.

1. So means tuition centre classes are not suitable as the NUSH syllabus are different?
Or as Artume mentioned, got to take 1-2 level up?
2. Normal O level / A level assessment books help? Does NUSH use text books?
3. Only HCL/ CL follow mainstream syllabus? which still can take up tuition ctr class tuiton?
For every module, NUSH give out photocopy reading materials, materials given out depend on the modules,

For Biology, the materials are more of lesson PPT. The PPT are taken from book publisher resource materials. Chapters to read are also given out in the reading materials. DC basically read the whole Campbell Biology textbook.

For Maths, the module materials cover the theory and questions. DC did not buy any books except the AP guidebook.

For Chemistry and Physics, the module materials cover key theory and recommended text and chapter to read. for Chem and Physics, DC use it occasionally.

For Humanity, copy of some chapters from recommended text, newspaper articles and some time research papers are given. DC did not buy any of the recommended textbook.

Students after 6 years, will have a pile of notes and assignment papers of around 10 ft high.

Hope this help.

Some modules don't care about attendance, some use attendance as part of the grade. I think sci/engineering doesn't really care about attendance, though my chemistry tutorial did take it. Nuances of university, each lecturer to his own. First lecture will talk about it I think.

I skipped all my NUS lectures near my NUSH exam time. I have a friend who skipped use NUS lecture as excuse to skip NUSH lecture, but end up skipping NUS lecture too and just slept in hostel ๐Ÿ˜‚

Thanks a lot. So you also took chemistry ? Did you get exemption when you join NUS so that you can advance further ? Does the exemption extend for overseas universities ? Thanks again !

I did take chemistry. NUS will generally give exemption, overseas universities generally will not. A lot of US universities can take placement tests to accelerate, so there's that.
