Hi,

I would like to find out the school bus fetching and dropping off timing to Potong Pasir and how much is the school bus fare?

You will be able to find out this on the orientation day. If you can't wait, go to school website, under \"contact us\", \"vendor contact information\" you will find a link to list of bus driver contact info and route, you can call the driver up to check.

        Hi aloyboy,

Thank you. Btw, i saw someone mentioned Pei Chun will be moving to a holding site in 2017. May I know where will be the holding site? And is the holding site confirmed?
Confirmed at Toa Payoh East.

The PM Session is from 12.25pm to 6.20pm. But the kids have to be at school by 12.15pm for preassembly silent reading/ activity. Hope you child enjoys PCPS. :rahrah:

Hello Parents, in PCPS P5 class posting, I heard that there are only 2 top classes although we have big cohort size of 360. That means students in these 2 classes must be very smart and competitive. Are these 2 classes equally good whereby the top 80 are put randomly into 5A and 5B or top 40 go 5A and next 40 in 5B?

Do you know in previous years, what is roughly the minimum score in order to get in to these classes, example 350/400?
I am not sure if my daughter has a chance because this SA2, her results become very very bad. I almost fainted when she came home and told me her scores. It's my fault because I thought she was doing very well in P1 to P2 and foundation should be good so this year, I focus the younger ones and neglected her. I am worried if she can improve in next year P4. I heard many people says in upper primary, results continue dropping only, impossible to improve one. It is very scary! 😞

She is hoping that she can be selected to be a prefect but I think selection is only in P3 right?
If P3 she was not selected for prefect interview, that means no chance already right?
I do not know why it seems like every girls' dream to be a prefect and I keep telling her this is not important but she still keeps on dreaming!
In her class, she said only 3 or 4 selected for the interview, very few because in my friends' children school, each class has 8 or 9 prefects.

P5A will have the top 40 students, followed by 5B and so on. There’s one sports class and 2 classes that do not do Hcl.

In P4 if you are the top 3 in class then most likely can go 5A. Not sure what is the percentage cut-0ff…probably 90%.

Can still work hard and catch up in P4…more than enough time. If her Mathis is weak need to use this holiday to train her in her multiplication tables first. This is very important.

I heard P4 got another chance at prefect selection but not sure bec most prefects I know were selected end of p3.

My DD has been a hall monitor for the past 1 year+. Does it mean she will stand a higher chance in prefect selection?

May I also ask what time does morning session start?

Likely to be shortlisted for the year end prefect interview but no guarantee. A lot of class monitors were not selected.

Students are expected to arrive by 715am.

                      Hello Parents,

I thought I could shed some light on some of the queries that you might have.

On leadership, if your DD have been the hall monitor for about a year plus, your DD could be on a “trial” before the “real” selection of a prefect. I don’t know accurate is my guess. I think that the interview period is over already. I hope that your DD was nominated for the interview!
I think the school is always on the lookout for leadership renewal. I am certain that in Primary 4, they will continue to look for “new blood”. :imcool:

On routine, the morning session starts at 7.10am as indicated in the pupils’ diary (it could be 7.15am, I am unsure). Then they will have a “pre-assembly” program then after till 7.25am when the morning precession will start. 😄

On assessment, generally, I think that the teachers in PCPS are quite fair. Though the problem sums and questions might be very difficult at times, I think they are still reasonable. For one, the teachers will definitely not test something that they themselves have not taught.
I always do a gauge and expect a 10% decrease from the previous year’s results. This is to better manage my own expectations. 😢

                        Thank you parents for sharing.

10% drop per year is a lot, this is really frightening. Please don't! 🙏 ..
Can we have 5% improvement instead?! 😂

Unfortunately no, my girl was not selected for the prefect interview. Oh, do you mean at end of P4, there is another selection? My DD was a hall monitor in P1 to P2 but not selected. Maybe her results dropped so cannot be one. Apart from good character, I think prefects need to be all subjects band 1 type. My DD has 2 subjects with band 2. Need to work harder next year. 😓

I agree with lionqueen that many monitors are not chosen. In fact, my DD was so sure that her current class monitor will be selected but surprisingly no although the teachers always praise the boy's work.

When compare with other top schools, I think our school papers (except Chinese) are considered easy already.
Some schools set ridiculously difficult questions so that parents feel stress, must send their children to TLL for enrichment. I think it's better life to be teachers in those schools.. teach less and the kids automatically know because of enrichment. Unlike our school, teachers stay back to give compulsory remedial from P3.

Can we opt out for HCL in P4 or P5? As my daughter dislike Chinese, I am thinking of just letting her do normal Chinese so she can have more time for other subjects. Someone told me before unless the child wants to go to a SAP secondary school, the additional HCL points are useless, very difficult to score distinction too so it is not worth it to spend too much time on Chinese.
