:offtopic: How are men's shoes supposed to be maintained? I thought shoe wax will crack up the shoes eventually?

      Hi Busymom,

My DH uses a dry cloth to wipe the surface of his shoes. And every morn, he uses kiwi wax to polish them. Or else I do ๐Ÿ˜‰

He uses Johnston and Murphy brand. Says its v v comfortable. Polishing them has never 'cracked up' his shoes and they have lasted for years.

Thanks for the tip. Think it was someone at a shoe repair shop who told me not to use shoe wax. They were recommending some kind of spray instead.

Why you all so high class one?

I don't even dare to step into the designer shop cos i know i will step out of it empty handed!
Ferragamo shoes are lasting, but i won't want to wear the shoes for 10 years!
Eh, btw, do you all wear high heels to work?
I wear 3 inches heel daily, mostly wedged ones.
I have a pair of flats that i wear while driving.
Same sentiments. I was reading..... thinking..... wow... :!: all very high class leh. Sorry, no offence.

I don't wear high heels.... can't balance  Really envy ladies who walk around with high heels... watching them swaying their ..... very elegant.
I usually wear only 1 - 1.5 inches heel coz I am always on my feet.

So far my shoes do not exceed $100/pair.

I usually buy americaya shoes. I like their wedge heel. For flats, i like swank.
The last time, at Taka, i took a fancy on a pair of elle shoes. The service was so good, and i was near to buying that pair which cost $350 after discount. Luckily no size, otherwise i would have bought it!

I am not a timepiece collector remember?...but you can try to look at Patek Philippe and Bvlgari(for design)
A mechanical from Patek Philippe is too expensive. That's too sinful

Althou' another way to look at it is that I can give that to my DD next time. ๐Ÿ˜‰

Those who wear and carry designer products, do you take public transport, taxi or drive?
I feel insecure if carry and wear expensive stuff and take MRT and bus.

Okie, I oso not high class.

But I like branded stuff in the sense that they must be classic. Must be able to use it still 10 yrs later lagi better. Haiz, blame this trait on my DH. It has rubbed off on me. Not that my DH is brand conscious, but to him, if you are paying $500 or more for something, must last one .... ๐Ÿ˜‰

Do own some of the brands that have been mentioned. So here's something that has not not been ...

Heard of Katherine Hamnett watches??? If you are familiar with the brand, her watches are v v dainty looking, small size with thin straps ... (*hint* *hint* Funz :D).

When I first saw the model over 10 yrs ago in the HER world magazine (and I still have the cut-out somewhere), told meself that I will get it, one day. The px of the watch that I bought has gone up for sure ... Gifted by DH.

My Gucci watch was also gifted to me by DH. It was a proposal 'ring' so to speak. I was really touched cuz we were in London then and I just happened to pass by the watch boutique and commented how beautiful the watch was. He just took it as a sign and bought it behind my back. Said later he didn't want to propose to me 'empty handed' ๐Ÿ˜„

Rolex given to me by DH when I delivered DS. I had mentioned in jest that it shd be gifted to me if I managed to sustain a pregnancy thru full term ... DH took it seriously, bought it and said later I deserved it

As for shoes, I never buy 'cheaply made' shoes. I have a phobia for blisters and bunions. I tend to purchase those made in spain as they are comfortable and durable. I have a pair of hush puppies wedges bought like more than 5 yrs ago, still going strong. As for Blahniks, will get down to purchasing them one day when I don't have to totter ard with toddler ... ๐Ÿ˜‰

So really, they may be branded, but whats more impt to me is that each of these items really have sentimental value ๐Ÿ˜„

Oh and BTW, I hoard those freebie bags given away by HER world and such. They are so handy for putting in magazines to read while waiting or DS's stuff ....One of the clutch bags given away by the above magazine has become a personal fav for travelling - as a make-up case .... ๐Ÿ˜‰

I drive or take a cab.

It depends where I am going lah ... Won't carry such bags to NTUC ...

Once I carried my Gucci to my DS's class and left it on the floor. Got reprimanded from DH. He said must give it 'royal treatment' cuz he spent a bomb (over $3000). Haiz, DH v particular lah ... but then again, his things last. He kept his wallet that I bought for him in mint condition for more than 15 yrs b4 he changed .... ๐Ÿ˜„
