If you do read carefully you would realise that my comments were not directed at him. They were examples to illustrate the importance of putting consideration into one's speech.

... think whether you shld edit it. Also, not being arrogant but i cannot take it lying down, but i did get the top 10% and eagles award last year.

It is good that you finally realised 'I mean no harm' serves no purpose when your comment is unappealing in general.
