      Yes, it’s really stressful to have husband at one school and wife at another. Like what Minnie mentioned, the most scary thing to happen is to end up with nothing. I know all parents want the best for their kids.

        Although I've heard people doing this, it still sounds really stressful to me. What are the chances that when everyone sees there's no balloting and do the same thing? The situation may reverse at the last minute. If we withdraw from the other school thinking there's no balloting in the school of our top choice and eventually fail in the balloting we would end up with nothing :stupid: 😢

        it is a gamble.

        thus make sure you know your odds and whether it is worth risking what you have already secured. And have a backup plan in case not success in ballot.

          then don't. Hold on to the bird in hand and forget about the other in the bush.

            Just thinking…is it really necessary to have 2 parents at different schools ? This is too big a gamble to take. A friend of mine told me she wanted to do this for daughter back then. They have a son 1 year older in Pei Hwa but wanted to put daughter in CHIJ Chestnut (Phase 2C). Hubby didn’t want to take the risk for Phase 2C. In the end, both kids in Pei Hwa.

                hi ImMeeMee

                your girl is not eligible for Phase 2A2 for St Nicks, if you are only ex-student of secondary school and not primary school.

                @tankee
                Not true.

                My DS got into my school (I was there only in Sec) under 2A2.

                @ImMeeMee
                Certitficate I think should be ok. Check the MOE website for all documents required and if needed, call SNG.

                thanks JonC, that's reassuring to know.

                  Yes can gamble where 1 withdraw & the other one entry. The risk is 100% success or 100% failure depend on the number of applicants.

                    Yes, coz St Nick is a 'full school', hence ur child qualify under 2A2 even if u were only a student of the sec and not pri school. THis only applies to 'full schools', not all schools.
