NerdyMath:
It depend on bell curve. If alot of the student able to do well in Maths and do badly in chinese than Y maybe higher. If vice versa than X will be higer.Let's say,
X got
91 for English
100 for Maths
91 for Science
91 for Mother Tongue.
Y got
91 for English
91 for Maths
91 for Science.
100 for Mother Tongue.
Whose score will be higher? -
StillThinking:
Hey guys, what do you guys think the cop for nygs, rgs,ri, hc, dunman, cedar, scgs, sngs for this year will be? Make a guess
I think the cop of each school will be raised at least 2-3 marks comparing last year. As the average score is low for Chinese, science. Usually the. Difficult paper than the cop will be higher. As last year paper is easy, so this year paper will be harder. This is my experience. -
DS finished PSLE and felt lost now.... Has been studiously studying for so many months & now, empty-empty. How do the rest of parents of P6s' occupy ur kids' time, from now till school start in Jan 2016?? Don't tell me enrichment classes for Secondary school syllabus pls... :?

In school: The P6 students are still encouraged to go to school. There are programmes lined up for them: education & career guidance talks, learning various life skills, excursions etc
At own time: DS invites friends over, also go over to friends' place to play badminton, soccer etc
Go to various gatherings that he & his various friends organised.
If alone, play all the electronic games that he has been postponing; play online games which his friends are also in; watch all the movies that he has been postponing by catching up from youtube & toggle. -
Why is it that cop will be higher in year of difficult paper ? Shouldn’t it be lower?Any reason ?

Haha...the empty and void feeling after mugging for months is understandable. I have even heard of people staring at the ceiling, walls, cupboards and into blank space.
Besides letting my kids play online games or watch Korean dramas on their smartphones which I think is not so ideal, I get my kids to learn to do housechores like the laundry, cleaning their own rooms, wiping dust off furniture, vacuuming and mopping the house and making trips to the supermarkets or wet markets for groceries. They also reorganise their books and throw away completed worksheets and assessment books so as to free up shelves for next year's books.
My girls get to bake whatever they want - brownies, cupcakes and pizzas. I also teach them how to cook a full proper meal. My 13 year old girl can cook a full course meal 三菜一汤 and she knows how to cook rice using a pot over a stove. We don't use electric rice cooker.
During weekends, they go to their grandparents' house to do some cleaning chores for the old folks. That is CIP to me. What better way to help and serve the community by starting with your own grannies first. Charity begins at home.
Of course get them to do lots of exercise and learn a new sport. Catch up on reading and make them read up on anything they can lay their hands on especially current affairs.
The things to do is endless if you plan it right. -
My DD2 loves to go back to sch especially after PSLE. So many activities to enjoy with friends - better than staying at home.
When holidays come, besides going for our family overseas vacation, she is joining some CC’s activities like baking, dancing.
She will also follow her granny to do some charity work. -
1st thing, spring clean room.
DD has no lack of activities so far. I had to tell to slow down as I don't want her to end up with nothing left to do when the hols start.
Invite friends over for gathering
Go over to friend's place for after PSLE celebration.
Bake
Read
Watch Korean variety
Learn some K-Pop dance
Swim
Learn some new hairstyling tips form youtube
Learn new nail art thingy from youtube
sketch
write - apparently she and a few friends are collaborating to write a fantasy, hunger games, maze runner genre kind of short story using some online app. Don't ask me, I have no idea what it really is.
Along the way, I throw her little projects from my work to keep her occupied. So far, I've had to tell her no to having her friends over a few times already and also no to her going over to her friends' place. -
Well, for me, I have already planned the following.
- Catch up on Running Man.
- Swim every weekend.
- Badminton on every weekday.
- Computer games with friends.
- Do DIY Google Cardboard and DIY Projector.
- Visit museums in Singapore.
- Learn a new skill
- Try flying fox and rock climbing.
This holiday, I’m gonna live it to the fullest! -

Give him a reading list (fiction, unless he really enjoys non-fiction).
Pick up a hobby or sport or instrument.
Plan for Christmas - presents, celebrations, cards etc.
