Heard of Katherine Hamnett watches??? If you are familiar with the brand, her watches are v v dainty looking, small size with thin straps ... (*hint* *hint* Funz :D).

Umm... No, no, I dun like small dainty watches. I not very dainty. Ever see a bride walking barefoot with her wedding gown hitched up above her knees. That's me.

Fact is I like boy face watches and that is about as big as I can carry off.

Opps, paiseh paiseh ... sorri hor

I thought I read somewhere here you had a small wrist and assumed that you would go for watches that are dainty .... my bad lah :salute: :D[/quote] šŸ˜‰ No problem.

Haiz.. you are not the only one lah. My DH oso think that. In fact most of my BFs thought that.

Frank Muller usually has sale. Last year, they must be clearing stock and their classic Long Island piece which probably has a retail price of $20+k (but I heard someone getting it at about $12+k before) was selling at $8+k. That would have been a good buy if one likes Frank Muller, but not me. DH kept asking me to get it, but I don't think I should buy it just because it is cheaper than usual.

                Hi Busymom,

The entry level one, just plain face without diamonds and stainless steel design is about $5k. There are some boy face watch which might be slightly cheaper like $4.5k. Those with 11 tiny diamonds as dial is $9k and above... if i'm not wrong. the same diamond dial watch was about $5-6k 10 years ago.

The one I am drooling over is about $20K. Not sure about entry levels.

Omega is a good brand. They carry stuff in boy sizes too. Also, I like the warranty. once I brought it in for checking when it stopped, and they replaced the battery (mine is quartz) for free! i think my omega seamaster cost less than 2K - but it's stainless steel and mechanical (so cheaper).

Some uncle gave my hubby a very very old Omega...it's probably 30-40 y/o - still going strong. But be warned, exp watches also cost a lot to maintain - so do think about the cost for servicing. And that's the primary reason why we stopped at 2.

For other boy sizes (saw that being mentioned), IWC has nice ones too.

Those who are not pantang about 2nd hand watches can go to http://www.passionasia.com (cannot remember if got sg or not). Their showroom is at Funan.

I personally wish for a Patek Philippe for their ability to retain value....but that will take many many long years.
