So you mean there will be no time to slack? For Y3, can give an example of typical project title and how the pupils go about completing it? What kind of deadline, eg one week or 2 months to hand in? Will pupils who join in Y3 be disadvantaged? A lot of homework given?isetan:
Can anyone advise if VCA IP is very stressful and demanding? If DC is not the hardworking type but cooperative, pleasant and can excel in last minute's work, is DC suitable for VCA IP?
There will be so many projects, how can the student be free?
TIA.
I think if the school sees that your DD has the potential to go on with IP, you can consider to give it a try. Deadlines varies in weeks, depending on the teacher and task required. Alternatively, you can check with some form teachers what are the expectations in IP in sec 3. On a general note, all girls are able to cope well with some scoring 4.0 Gpa. -

Which program is more stressful, the Nanyang- Hwa Chong IP program or the VCA program? My daughter offered both via DSA. Still thinking about which to put as first option. Any comments?

Which school culture does your daughter prefer? I believe the schools involved, NY-HC and Cedar-VJC, are very different in school culture and location. -
Each school’s IP program has its challenges, it’s quite difficult to do a comparison (i.e. no Apple to Apple comparison).
Another way to make your choice is to look at the CCA or special talent programs offered by the schools and make your choice. You have a choice, happy selecting. -
Hi Sieg
May I know when you mentioned that your DC is offered IP, does that mean that she is being informed of her IP track now in Year 2 ? If it is so, kindly advise when did the school informed the potential students about it. Thank you. -

This is my personal opinion after interacting with children fr many different schools. I would put my child in a more diverse environment where he or she gets to interact with friends of different races. I've come across students who have been in a sap environment almost their entire schooling years and they have no friends of other races. I think such a child misses out a lot in life. Some are even adverse to mixing with people of different race. That's pretty unhealthy. But if your child has other avenues whereby she can mix with peers of different race regularly, that's probably ok.
Given the quality of cedar's teachers, I'm expecting stellar A level results from their first and subsequent batch of ip students. -

Won't the first batch be 6 years down the road?
Also Cedar girls move to VJC for Y5-6 so A level results will be dependent on the quality of VJC teachers rather than Cedar teachers?
