3.6 is definitely \"good enough\" by nearly anyone's standards! As parents, I think we should assess our child based on effort rather than purely grades, since every child has different innate abilities. I remember telling my daughter before she started at RGS that she could find herself in the middle or lower, but that as long as she had put in a good effort, it was fine. After all, if you compare with the top 3% (I think?) of students and come in at the bottom, it's still good!GiftedGem:

Moe should grant those students for EISYA ready as even students who got EESIS at year 1 may not get GPA greater than 3.6. It is not fair for them as top 5% of each cohort by level in each IS based on their school examination usually has EESIS.ACTC:

Yes, that is true. On the contrary if one is not awarded EESIS base on PSLE T-score, the chances of getting the E(IS)YA : Edusave (Independent Schools) Yearly Awards is extremely slim. The EISYA is awarded to the top 5% of each cohort by level in each IS based on their school examination results for the year. To qualify for top 5% where most of her cohort are already the top 3% of PSLE, it is near impossibility.
My daughter's just missed last year's EESIS cut-off by a fraction. Apparently some with T-Score of 257 was awarded but she wasn't. Her Y1 GPA was >3.7 and should be considered average but definitely not top 5%. -

The COP for RGS was 258 last year, which means most of the students are EESIS holders i.e. top 3% of the PSLE. If anyone who is non ESSIS and achieve top 5% in the cohort, it must really be an exception.

Yes. It is true. It is impossible to get top 5% at Rgs. This is why I am thinking moe should change their rules. Making the criteria is impossible rather than it does not have. -

Changes have been made but I am not too sure of the details as I've graduated. What I heard is that shoes have to be whiter (like higher % white), and that information has been disseminated to 2015 Y1-Y3 via their emails a few days ago. Hope this helps
