I haven't heard of any changes to the shoe rules for next year.

            Hi!

Changes have been made but I am not too sure of the details as I've graduated. What I heard is that shoes have to be whiter (like higher % white), and that information has been disseminated to 2015 Y1-Y3 via their emails a few days ago. Hope this helps 🙂

I had a read of the email sent and yes, 80% and upwards white for shoes is still applicable.

To add, the coloured part cannot be of a striking or fluorescent colour, no coloured sides and no high-tops.

PB even showed photos of approved and non-approved examples of shoes which I thought was very helpful.

I think it varies. And some will try not to notice smaller things. My daughter was careful about school rules though as she has some closer friends who were prefects - she didn't want to put them into a difficult position.

Many prefects are torn in enforcing the school rules. They do not necessarily agree with all the school rules but they have the responsibility to enforce the school rules.

Some prefects feel very bad booking their friends and classmates. Some of them take efforts to keep reminding their classmates and friends not to break the rules (especially the one about changing back to school uniform after PE) but still end up booking some of their friends and classmates. After bookings, the prefects somehow feel bad and then apologise. Actually, I feel there is nothing to apologise as they are just doing their job.

Some students really break the school rules on purpose despite multiple warnings and bookings. These are the "problematic students" to the prefects.

Parents with girls who have walked through this prefect path will understand what I mean. 🙂

My family were/are all averse to being prefects, and this is one of the reasons! I remember ducking out of being considered for prefect-ship (much to my parents’ annoyance) when I was in school, and my husband said he was the same. And my daughter also said that she would avoid being prefect if she was ever considered. I guess she’ll never want to be in the police force either! We are all law-abiding people in ourselves, but don’t like the idea of policing others.
