      Jennifer:

Now that the A levels exam are over, I suppose most of the children are in the process of making the decision of which uni(s), which course to apply ?

My elder boy wants to do material science. So far he has only decided one uni to apply at.

Is this risky as in if the one uni rejects his application, he has to wait for another year to apply at other uni?

Hubby told him that he should apply at a few uni. Is this the normal practice?

I'm not familiar with material science. Is he applying for it in the local unis or overseas? With boys, I think it's fine to wait another year as they still need to serve NS. He can apply at the same uni again, can't he, if that's his dream uni for the course?

If apply next year, can use this year A levels results? Or would the uni need other credentials?

      Many thanks in advance.

Yes, you can apply with the same A level results. Some of the boys I know got in on the second year bec their experience in NS strengthened their CVs and their maturity helped in interviews as well.

Elder boy has decided to apply at one uni next year. If this uni rejects his application, he will then apply at other uni the following year.

NUS-FASS has first year common... then based on first year result you get Major... Quite competitive & if you dun get major in Psychology , rest options won't get you proper 9 to 6 job.

SMU School of humanities is definitely better option
