Thanks Kira- orientation day must buy text books; lap top; uniforms- I think need to set aside the whole day to queue here and there... just anticipating what will happen...

How many parents actually buy the MacBook at school on orientation day??? Any discount? Otherwise can buy elsewhere

For uniforms- can buy in advance from Bibi Baba- but they are out of some items, so still need to queue up in Sch to buy...

As for text books- wonder if its the same list from year to year- so can use last year as a gauge?? Any parents selling second hand books??

        Thanks.

No need to worry about lap top on the first day. More info will be given later. Settle the text books and uniform on the first day and enjoy the experience. Also do consider joining PRGS.

Dear all, is it a must to have a Mac in RGS fr Y1 or any laptop wif windows based will do? Guess gotta train my DD up to use Mac then, cos we nvr use dat b4 tho..lol.. Any training given?
As for the sch uniform, we notice the gals will fold their sleeves..kinda of cute tho..but its dat a standard thing or sch rules? Many thanks all.. 😄

The PC must be one of the prescribed models. Windows OS not allowed. I expect there will be training given. My daughter joined later so I don't know what they do in Yr1.

Folding up the sleeves is the \"proper\" way to wear the uniform. I think it's a waste of time in the mornings, but what to do? I'm glad to see that the RI girls blouse has the cuff/fold sewn in so they don't have to fold it every day.

Hi it's highly recommended to use Mac although I do see one or two people using other models. There is a basic training course for everyone so don't worry! Most people are using Mac for the first time and the functions are really easy to learn.

Also rolling up of sleeves is a school tradition that goes way back so it's compulsory... It takes only a few seconds and also since we're the only school that has this tradition it kind of marks us as RGS. 🙂 hope this helped!

Hi, what do you think is the likely psle cutoff for the school this year? I realised that the cutoff for the top 10% isn't fixed at 250. This year's was 252 as only those who 252 onwards are offered third lang. :?

May I know what is SAP? Is it special art programme? Is it RGS inhouse art programme? How is it different from AEP (Art Elective Programme)?

Sorry sembgal, I can't help you on that. My dd is attending the AY2016 Year 1 Reporting Day on 23 Dec. We will have to learn more details on the RGS reporting day.
