The Omega 3-6-9 from nordic naturals only contain 90mg of DHA per 2 softgels. I have that too.

My son has been taking Scotts ORIGINAL cod liver oil since 2 (he’s 5 now).

Recently, he said that the cod liver oil taste different and a bit sourish (it’s nowhere near expiry and the bottle’s newly opened). We opened another bottle and he said it’s still sourish.

Anyone using Scotts ORIGINAL cod liver oil has the same experience??

Tried calling agent, but the automated message keeps saying EVERYONE IS BUSY AND CAN’T COME TO THE PHONE!

do you mean the one in the new plastic bottles?

or the old batch in glass bottles?

                Flowerkoh,

Both my DS are having cod liver oil (Scotts) all this long, they are fine with the taste/smell.....which i find yucks :!: When i give it to them, i will have to hold my breathe..... 😛 They have been taking for both packaging.

It could be your DS is having a change on his taste bud, try giving it to him again and at the same time, tell him that it (Cod liver oil) \"helps\" his immune. If that fail, guess u will have to switch to chewable multi-vits. Wondering there is chewable cod liver capsule available in the market....

p/s: should this thread move to somewhere else??

Yes my girl had the same experience but she complained that it tasted \"plastic\" (expiry date: June 2011). Gotten her a second bottle (expires in Jul) and it turned out fine. Maybe you should wait and try the later batch.

Luvkid, Scotts has cod liver oil in the form of softgels. My DD1 started taking them from 5 or 6yo, when she learned to swallow capsules. She takes them daily now and it’s easy to take since there is no yucky taste. (She hates the orange liquid one as it’s too sweet.) You can get it in big or small bottles at places like Unity Healthcare and Chinese medical halls (I think).

It's not so much the taste. He loves the fishy smell of the oil, same as he loves fresh pan fried cod (equally yucky!). I'm referring to the slight sour taste of the oil (like it's been mixed with orange, but it's the original version).
