Just sharing, we received an email from NUS High School yesterday (18th Dec) morning saying that my DS has been offered admission to 2016 Year 1. There were no interviews or such. We have up till 1500hrs on the 22nd to accept or decline the offer.
Will wait until the outcome of the S1 posting before deciding.

Hmm...3.5 is a B. Most get min B+ while A- and A are more common. Not to depress anyone but for Year 1, a B is quite \"dangerous\" as the syllabus will get harder and harder as the years go by.
Thanks for sharing.lurline:
Hi sembgal,
Heard from the mentor that anything below 3.5 is consider no good. So 3.5 cannot be very good. The average in ds class is 4.1
Even though is year 1 at NUSH, I heard from the child's mum, who mentioned anything above 3.5 is considered very good.
Of course below 3.5 is no good. But every class average could be different.

These students are usually in the P list.
There are also those who got 4.9 and 5.0.sembgal:
Those turning 13 years old, heard highest score was 4.8/5.
Anything above 3.5 is considered very good. My friend's child has no tuition can score 4.4/5. This school is really for those whose PSLE get A* for Sci and Math and all the best students are in this school. Very competitive. Another friend's friend's son didn't do well, got depression.
These students would be in the top 5%.

child get B for Maths, B for Physics, B for Bio, A for Chem (3B, 1A) -
risky ?
do NUS High \"kick out\" any student, before ? -
phtthp:
My personal opinion, the child must be :imdrowning: because a low CAP is usually because of languages or humanities and should not be Math and Sciences.
