CHIJ St Nicholas Girls' Secondary

Admin Officer (Secondary section) said
Cut-off point for CHIJ St Nicholas this year (2015 Psle batch, born 2003) :
"O" level : 253 (for non-affliates)
IP : 258
I posed a question :
"if a child with T-score 251 : want to appeal for O level, what is her chances like " ?
her reply, "the pupil can still proceed to submit Appeal form. But chances is very, very slim" -
Hi phtthp,
How about the COP for affliation? -
Ganjiongspider:
Officer admin confirmed thatHi phtthp,
How about the COP for affliation?
for affliates : for O level is 230, not 231
but she said only if affliates put down CHIJ St Nick as first choice in their list of 6 choice schools, then got priority to enter first. Otherwise, no priority -
phtthp:
Study in St Nic primary is not a guarantee to St Nic Sec. What if the child score less than 230? Got to go other school to study?

Correct, no guarantee

2017 Psle (born 2005) :
Principal said will revise 230
(because Catholic High boys affiliation COP is : 240)
if student can't meet affliated COP at 230 (for this year 2015 Psle and next year 2016 Psle) :
will be \"kicked out\" of St Nick, posted to other Secondary school instead by MOE, for \"O\" level.
It is MOE that do the posting, not St Nicholas school.
based on 2015 Psle batch :
already a huge 23 points discount, if student put down St Nick as first choice (given priority), in the list of 6 choice schools :
253 (non-affliated) - 230 (affliated)
= 23 marks, difference -
phtthp:
So it is like being \" kicked out\" for not meeting the 230 expectation. :yikes:

Wonder how many apply to transfer in to St Nic Primary and got kicked out at P6. Personally I know of one friend who got kick out of St Nic due to not meeting the affiliation point many years back. -
Sec 1 reporting programme for tomorrow is out on St Nick Web page.
-
Now I have worried for choosing the CCA and also HCL.
-
How many girls are not offer hcl at sec 1 ?

Can anyone share if their IP girls have any problems with learning 3rd language? Does it clash with the various enrichment programs or CCAs? I still can't decide whether to let dd take up 3rd language.
Hi, I am currently a St Nicks student. Regarding your question I have heard from my friends that it is really passion that keeps you continuing to learn because some teachers in the 3rd language class actually start speaking in their own language from lesson 1 so your child may be confused but it still differs from teacher to teacher but most of my friends have had teachers like this. It also does occasionally clash enrichment programmes but 3rd language is first priority so your child will have to go for 3rd language class instead of enrichment. Hope this helped you ^^
