Does anyone know how the year3 class assigned?
I'm not sure too. In my boys classes, there r boys taking 8 and 9 subjects in same class. But they take the same humanity subject -
Hi J1 Rafflesian here.
Y3 classes are assigned by subject combi + RA/non-RA. Also somewhat streamed with GPA (e.g. 3.1-3.7 IIRC for my class)
Boys who take 8 subjects (e.g. PC+G) will be streamed with others who take the same combi or even more (e.g. triple science + geog). 10th subject will be external so not really affecting class assignment. -
For JIP,
Tentatively, open house should be on 13th (depending on o-lvl results day).
All info below is from stamford (but since some of you can’t get ahold of it ill just rewrite here)
All students report at 7.40am at MPH in full sec. school attire (i.e. can wear RGS uni)
Can leave school at 12.30pm if nothing else.
JIP will be from 14th - 27th.
4th jan: release of of JIP electives (email sent)
11th noon - 13th noon: signup of JIP electives (instructions on how to do so will be in the email on 4th jan + another email will be sent)
also another thing that was attached to the pdf was "Future of Us" Exhibition.
students will have to attend this exhibition IIRC at gardens by the bay
19th jan 11.30 - 16.30 for female students
25th jan 11.30 - 16.30 for male students
transport provided to but not back. -
May I know if there is a list of school bus operators whom I may contact for daily bus trips from Punggol to RI (Yr 5-6)? Thanks for any help in this. Happy New Year to all parents of Rafflesians here!

My daughter will be very happy to hear this, but I'm not so sure I like the news that she can get free wifi for her phone in school!lalaland:

DS went to an nearby Asian country and he absolutely loved it. Due to 'budget cut', the school doesn't encourage overseas trips to Europe and US (even if parents are able & willing to pay).Firefly,
RI, HCI, SA and SM for my girl. Haha... Their school locations r all over except near my home!
Thank u for ur well wishes. I also feel that independent schools should be allowed some flexibility, but well ... mOE always has the final say! Yes hci is a great school too but the distance is a killer haha... But he is looking fwd so Im sure he will enjoy his school life.
Sounds like your DS had lots of fun. Which country did he go to? Wishing him all the best in his JC life too. Heard many of them will start developing interest in the opposite sex in y5! Haha...
BGR.. Oh NO !! :scared:

Glad to hear that the school is trying to keep costs lower. Although I know that they are optional, it can make it difficult when some kids are not able to go due to financial constraints, and I believe that similar experiences can be gained nearer home as far away. Families like mine are not poor enough to get financial aid, but the extra $1000 or so can be a large drain on the budget.DS went to an nearby Asian country and he absolutely loved it. BGR? Well I hope our Y5's will be sensible enough to keep things at the \"just friends\" level for the time being. My daughter gets along quite well with the boys in church on that footing, so I hope she will do the same in school. She was in a co-ed school until Sec 2 as well, so she finds it very funny when some of her friends who have been in all-girls schools all their lives are apprehensive about being classmates with boys!
