Heard 2015 MOE reduce the number of intake of Round 2 GEP girls. Gender imbalance if more GEP boys compared to GEP girls. Heard that more boys get selected than girls as girls grow up will tend to be SAHMs so groom more GEP boys. I really hope this rumour is not true. Both boys and girls should be given equal chances.

Even RGPS also reduce intake of 1 class of GEP girls and I cannot help believing the rumour is true. :scratchhead:
anyone attend GEP briefing last November (2015), at NUS High ?
did GEB (MOE) mention they reduce GEP intake across the board for P3s, or only reduce girls ?

Nothing was mentioned during the NUSH briefing about shutting down 3 GEP classes this year. My guess is that there may be slightly fewer than 500 children selected.

No statistics was shared on the gender breakdown of the selected students. From what I observed during the briefing and hearsay, boys appear to outnumber girls in the selection process.

          Hi Parents,

Need to ask those parents of P2 and above, who take the school bus.

Not sure if this was sent to all bus routes or certain bus routes only....

Last year, they asked us to sign up for this SSTA Parent app, where we can keep track of the bus arrival timings. (remember this?). Erm, does anyone remember what is the username and password? I remember one of them is the child's BC number (should be username, I think), but I cannot remember what is the password supposed to be (child's birthdate / repeat BC number / parent's mobile number / what??).

Does anyone remember? Or do you still have the letter from SSTA? If have, can also pass me the contact number of the person listed in the letter (someone from the app developer or a-star).

          Many thanks in advance! πŸ˜„

So, which class is that? πŸ˜‚

              3D

students who scored high marks for HCL (Higher Chinese), at end of P2 : 100, 99, 98, are grouped to 3D

My girl is assigned to 3A for HCl, she scored 98 in P2

Yes, 3A also another Top class, for HCL.

                  my friends' 2 daughters -
                  @end of P2 : one scored 98, another scored 97,
both are also assigned to the same class 3A for HCL, just like you.

As there are many @end of P2 students scored 95 to 100 (5 marks interval) -
the girls are split up, banded (or grouped) into more than one HCL class, let them learn more \"chim\" stuff.

there are more than 1700+ students, in our school.

bound to have more than 50 students, interested in student care.
wonder how Principal going to allocate, who to get into student care (2017) ?
                    perhaps, balloting ? ...

What about newly transferred in students for 2017? Will they be allocated a place in student care too?

She didn't elaborate further on the student care. Only gave the above info. I think probably later half of year then they will tell us how they will pick the 50 students.

The forms she said to be given around July this year. So I don't know how the 2017 transfer students be allocated for it
