My DS is still watching TV when I get home around 8.30pm. Always tell me he has finished his homework. Will study for about an hour before going to bed by 10pm.
On days where he does not have anything in the afternoon, he will nap in the afternoon.
I feel a different kind of stress. -
some schools will go intensive after CNY.
i remember my son’s teachers went on 4th gear after CNY holidays…which was a bit crazy because during the festive period, kids eat more heaty food, visiting relatives during the hot weather…many were unwell after 2 days of public holiday.
daughter told me her subject teachers have just placed order for the psle booklets. -
Mine also. Spelling list for both Eng and Chinese out and the first mo xie was done and signed. Come back everyday with lots of homework. Health education period taken away and replaced. But so far still ok and manageable. Can feel the ‘heat’.
Jia You to all! -
Mine still watching TV too.. even while doing homework

Sometimes I wonder if DS is taking PSLE this year :? I am stressed that DS is not stressed and his school is not stressing the PSLE batch yet.

It's only Jan, still have time to mug. Why not look forward to CNY first?
Best not to be stressed now or it may lead to early burnt out. -

Stressed because there is no stress... the irony
But I am sailing in the same boat with you. :celebrate: -

Takes about an hour to finish them. Stuffs her ears with ear plugs while doing math. When done with hw, she is tired. But daily revision is important. So I give her 10 min rest and then do science MCQ. -
Oh My Gosh:
I am a working mother. Even if I reached home on good days at 7pm+, DS will be sitting in front of the TV i.e. he has finished all his homework. Then by 930pm, he will be in bed. Since P1, he is independent in doing all his homework before I reached home, only asking me questions if he has difficulties. So it seems that his school has yet to \"beef up\" yet for PSLE? He is in the top class in a branded school so I am feeling a bit puzzled - unless his school is going slow first. Let's see...
How I wish my DS will be like yours!
I'm working too, hence he is at home alone most of the time till my hubby and I return about 7-8 pm.
Think he waits till we are about to come home bef he does his hwk, hence no time for me to give him more. Difficult to monitor him while working. Call or text him in the afternoon, he will say he is going to start doing hwk. Now, he doesn't even want me to look at his hwk or bag. He says no complain from teacher, means he is ok! Oh dear!
My hubby asks me to \"let go\" and let my boy manage, but it is P6 year, can I? So far his result is ok but if I let go, worried it will drop. -

I think it's great that your DS has been operating fine all this while and his results are good. No one would want to have to sit with their kids and watch them as they do work - else they don't do. DSes do their work before I come home, even if there is spillover, I won't want to watch them (TV nicer). I don't assign work because they have external classes already (part of our pact) and so far they been doing alright too.

The road is long ahead, I rather they keep their sanity with some games and fun than to bury their noses in school work all day long.
