Science olympiad training is for selected sec 1 and 2 students, held on Monday afternoons. There is lab work. There is no competition (just training). Mr Tan HK is in-charge of the programme.Does anyone know how is the Science Olympiad Training Programme conducted? Is there lab work? Who is organising the competition? When is it held?
Any insight is most appreciated. Thanks so much. -

Thanks very much, mathdog01! If there is no competition, would there be extra points for this course like the Australian Math course my ds took last year?

Science Olympiad is only a basis to enter SMTP in Sec 3. The test scores will be used to allocate the student a SSMT (higher SMTP) if he enters SMTP.

Hi,
In the CCA list, it is indicated against International Chess that it is second CCA.
Can I know what does this mean? Does it mean that it can be choosen as a main CCA and at the same time, there could be other students who already have a main CCA can also choose it as their 2nd CCA? Or does it mean that it can’t be counted as a main CCA?
Appreciate any advice, please. -
It cannot be counted as main CCA for this year’s Sec 1 boys. You would need to have a main CCA before you can choose international chess as second CCA. For sec 2-4 boys in international chess, it would still be considered a main CCA for them.

So the change was only effected from this year or it has always been the case?
Notwithstanding that, the Sec 1 boys will need to have a main CCA for this year, so come Sec 2, how would they be able to choose international chess as main CCA unless they are allowed to 'drop' the CCA from this year? Just wondering :scratchhead: -
