I remember coming across some writing in this forum, that ACS is strong in Character Building.... so is it ACS (I) or ACS Barker...
Yes I know. However, they are all part of ACS fraternity.Way2GO:

DR Ong is the Principal of ACS(I) and not ACS(Barker) which is involved in the earlier case that involves Adhe Noviello.
fyi
Personally, I encountered some ACS boys, as colleagues, they were proud...
Maybe we encountered different groups of ACS boys then. Those whom I know personally (and I know quite a number) are all really nice and humble people, despite their wealth.
My son is in ACS..and in my encounters with his classmates and their parents, I've yet to meet anyone arrogant. My son has been to their homes for projects and they strike me as very hospitable and polite people.

So got to implant/ wear dentures for life... What is that compared to permanent disabilities?????? :!:
He lost a tooth....MMM:
So is the ACS who got beaten up in recent brawl going blind :? Or just have a black eye for a period of time? :scratchhead: -

I am sure there are, especially those we know as personal friends, their kids would appear ok. So far my poor experiences are with those we meet at enrichment centres.

Ask the journalist.
In the past, it used to be joked that those from RI run the country while those from ACS own it...
We hv a case of a boy still lying in hospitalWay2GO:

Really disgusted to hear about the case of the boy who now suffers from permanent disabilities.
who is reporting likely to end up with permanent disability
after getting whacked by several ACS boys in a
school's rugby game;
He has been there for some time.
It was reported that till now, neither ACS nor those
boys involved have yet to pay the patient a single visit
despite the seriousness of his condition.
We also hv a case of an ACS boy kena whacked by
an SA boy after taunting him in a game.
This was front page news in the ST;
a police report was made.
Which case is more serious?
The disparity in how the two cases is handled is glaring
n ACS's silence/inaction in the first few days is deafening
n remains so in the former case.
Don't u all think ACS should at least show
some compassion for the boy lying in the hospital too? -

Same here, though not a big NO NO, but would rather send my DS to another school.
Really disgusted to hear about the case of the boy who now suffers from permanent disabilities. As a mum, I told my son that even if he can make it to ACS, that school is a BIG NO NO for me.
Oh dear, later get stoned by others... -
Busymom:
 I've not gotten stoned yet since this am. So don't worry. KSP are sensible lots and everyone of us is entitled to our own thoughts especially as a parent. To be fair, I am sure there are good ACS kids around too.

I just feel very sorry for the boy who end up with permanent disabilities.
BTW.... are we talking the same group of ACS rudgy boys???? -
Busymom:
Please don't say until like that leh....just because of a few black sheep.

My son enjoys his student life there. He was not from the affiliated primary schools but has no problem integrating into the school and mixes around very well with his classmates. As far as I know and from my intereaction with his classmates and their parents, they appear to be really nice and polite.
And when his classmates do come to my home for their projects, they are well-behaved and well-mannered. I'm impressed, actually.
And Dr Ong is a very friendly and nice principal.

For me, it's just a personal preference due to some other reasons, and anyway, I was referring more to a choice of primary school for DS.
By the way, one of our friends' DS was from from ACS Primary and now in ACS(I). The boy is extremely well-behaved. At the end of the day, it is the upbringing and the guidance that the child has received from parents that counts. -
Busymom:
Yes it is the black sheep that is tainting....so I am in search of the white ones to change my views too.... I am sure they exist as in all schools. However, I feel the degree of naughtiness can really get overboard these days.Yes, yes, there are some black sheep in every school.
