Not intending to buy because no time to do. I stopped buying since 2 years ago.
i was in a dilemma whether to get or not.
if i don't, i won't know how prepared daughter will be.
most prob, hubby will accompany her and selectively do some of the questions instead of stressing her with the entire paper. -
I believe school will give them past year papers from both their own school as well as other schools. Tuition centres also devote a lot of resources to analyse and right focus their students. This is after all how they value add. Hence, I don’t really think it is a must to buy the papers.
I inherited some leftover papers and assessment books. If everything can be completed, I think it should be sufficient. I do know kids who passed with flying colours doing only the work allocated by school. No tuition or assessment books. -
Yes, my DD was from St Hilda’s last year and she did not attend any tuition. I bought her a lot of assessment books as she didn’t go for any tuition but she always complained that schoolwork was enough. It can be done so long as your child has supportive teachers who give good notes and go through papers in a meaningful manner, not just blindly copying answers. She got into NYGH this year!
My 2nd DD is taking PSLE this year too! -
That’s really good for your DDs… but not sure if neighbourhood school teachers are so supportive and give good notes…

I bought only the 3-yr series.. DD said tr will be getting for them in time to come though. I had wanted DD to start on them asap, thinking term 1 should have more time. Till date, no time to donicnac:

I don’t know how my daughter’s school prepares the students for PSLE. But one thing is for sure…her subject teachers have been supportive and helpful. I have learnt quite a bit from the homework she does.

Yes, they do. I know of kids from neighbourhood schools who got into the first tier schools IP without tuition. They are continuing/continued there without tuition as well. -

How different is the new and old syllabus? Cos DS is doing PSLE this year and DD 2 years later but looking at their P3 and P4 Science, seems the same :?EatNonStop:
I bought the full sets of 2015 top school exam papers(close to 15 schools) but I doubt DD able to even do more than 5 schools....the rest will be collecting dust...
will select some schools...definitely will be collecting dust because there is no time to do all the schools. the wasted subject will be for science since our kids are the last batch using old syllabus. math and english can give away if not completed. -
DD school will be doing PSLE pass years papers (school will purchase) + supplement classes for all subjects (stay back after school) + Jun holidays scheduled intensive training…ALL P6 students will have to attend…
I regret getting 2015 top schools exam papers (purchased before getting to know school’s program + tuitions HW)…simply no time to do!
To parents, pls access your school/tuition training programs prior deciding to get the papers else will be white elephant just taking up storage space! -
i remember paying extra for some past year exam papers parked under book list, which the school will be holding till term 3…but not sure what exactly they are. then last week, daughter told me teacher also ordered 2013-2015 for them.
actually ca1 past exam papers can be done now…but i’m still in the midst of revising some topics from lower block (science) which she has forgotten.
