Anybody can advise what should we do after finishing all the required hours? Should we for as a "certificate"? And when should this be done?

After you have completed the required hours, you submit your time sheet to the admin staff. The school will send you a letter nearer the registration period to state that you qualify to register under Phase 2B. Parents, pls correct me if I'm wrong as school regulations are always changing.

Tao Nan sent me a hardcopy letter (I think it was a form-template) sometime close to the end of Jun holidays.

            hi janet_lee88,

I don't think I'm the only 'kiam chye mia' person around, so people like me would appreciate that there is an avenue where through hard work, we can get our kids into schools of our choice, and not what 'lao tian ye' has in store for them.

It's stressful no doubt. The work done, the leave to take etc, these are no joke indeed. I can only lament that we are not from the right schools that'll provide an easier way through.

            Hi Hquek
Another 'kiam chye mia' person here. Lucky draws don't favour me. So I just hope that after selection and completing PV, don't have to go for balloting too!!! Hubby considering buying property within 1 km cos he also 'kiam chye mia'! So consider all these as investment for my future generations since, once in, always in! My son's wife does not have to do PV and he does not have to buy a property there!

PV + property within 1 km is by far the safest bet .... lolz .... afterall we are here to learn to be maximum kiasu !

take it that property within 1 km of a much desired school will always hold its value....it is well sought after every year

In that case property in 1Km of good school sure yield better price? Look at Nanyang Pri, 1Km & getting into PV is also very low chance. 😢

if i remember correctly, we received a letter for pv when ds was in k1 (nyk). as i wasn’t going to put him in nyps, i didn’t submit the form.

those who are not old boys/girls did submit the forms but i have no idea what happen next because we left the school shortly.

Do you guys know other than PV, how can we find out more about the school? e.g. what are the students & teachers like, school facilities, what they sell in canteen etc.

Do most schools have open house and allow school visits? As for RGPS & NYPS, I called them before and they said no open house and no school visits. Just go visit their website :|. Maybe they figure if they do have open house, the crowd will be too big for them to handle 😛

The best way is to visit the respective Parents Networking Threads of the schools in KSP.com! 😉

There are so many fellow forummers with children in the two schools that you mentioned. They provide \"insider\" information. So what if you are able to visit the school? You will only get to \"see\" the facilities, food that is sold in the canteen, etc. Our fellow forummers here will be able to tell you how good the facilities are, whether the food is nice, etc. Isn't it better?

                        Hi Titank,

Actually staying within 1km of Nanyang Pri is not a sure bet at all. There are so many properties close to the school. My cousin had to go for balloting for his son (1998) for Nanyang and it was a year with low birth rates. The HDB flats are old and yet fetch so high prices, such a heartache to pay.
