As for employer welfare, we are NOT protected until maid puts urine or soap powder in our food and get caught red-handed. However MOM protects maids so much that they can sit on employers' heads.

That's what we're afraid the most. You never know what they'll put into our food :x . We're totally helpless! It's just so easy for them to spit into our food before serving when they're angry. It's like when we go to a restaurant, never piss off the waiter before we finish our meal. There's a news recently about an Indonesian maid who put drugs into her old employer's soup to make her sleep. She said she did it whenever she's mad at her employer :!:

If the maid puts urine or spit into our food, there’s no case for us because urine and spit will not kill and its hard to trace. That’s why I always eat first and when I finished eating, then I scoop the remaining food for my maid. Its not 100% foolproof but better than none. I wonder if there’s any maid out there now reading all our posts!!??

Too bad I can't cook and am too lazy to cook . Also, it's really hot in the kitchen 😛 .

Maybe for the next maid, I'll ask her to bring out the food first and then scoop out her food in the dining room (right now my maid is taking out her food first in the kitchen before serving us). Seems not so nice to ask her eat our leftovers

            why not :?

I don't let her eat the leftovers. I put aside food for her. For me, after all, she is my employee, and she lives under my roof. I have to take good care of her so that she can take good care of my DS. Its a matter of 'you scratch my back and I will scratch yours'.

Only after a yr plus, I allow her to take food herself 😄

For us we will surely have food for her so first we all eat after that I put for her and she eats after cleaning our plates...[/quote]Same for me.

wow, my maid eats after we eat and she eats whatever she wants to the extent she eats more than me and my hubby. my mom is also a good cook so she will eat even more if my mom cooks.

i guess i am unique as i leave my 2 kids with the maid and no one else is at home so i have to close my eyes to a lot of things in the hope that she is happy and will also care for my kids well.

today under her care, my ds1 bit my baby until blue black…how to deal with this?

U need to strictly tell the maid to take care of the kids since thats her priority and if she sees them doing she should immediately make them apart or else call so that u can talk to DS1

Actually, I thought this should be the parents' job to teach the elder boy not to do such things to the baby? :?

If the maid really did what you suggested, would the elder boy complain to the parents? What would the parents do to the maid then? :?

My houserule is she’s not allowed to have any handphone. I find that once she has handphone, she will give alot of problems. We bought a handphone for one of my previous maid. She use the phone till 1am and

I m a light sleeper, I can hear her talking!! Then she starts using my housephone to cut down on her phone expenses. All her friends start calling my house! I was so mad!! So I tell myself, its enough!! No more hp for her.

Moonee, actually you can keep her hp and give it to her in the night.

Think also must make it clear that she cannot hit your child even if to discipline - unless this is something you dun mind her to do, and she won't be excessive.
