One big thing is to service them often and make sure good hygiene is observed ALL the time.

        hi 2ppaamm,

What do you mean by \"service\" ? I mean what does Andrew do to the lens ? Like massive cleaning, or adjusting, or ?

BTW, my 3 kids are on Ortho-K now... πŸ˜„

Can I find out what Soaking Solution and Cleaner do you use ? We are using about 1 bottle of Alcon GP Multi-Purpose every 1.5 weeks..... Very siong..... !

        Regards

just check out at nanyang, lense itself cost $180, if thin type $380.

it is similar to bi-focal lense. but designed differently to suit the children.

Basically, what I understand from the sales person.
It is based on old concept and develop a new product, that's all. if the kids didn't use correctly, it is 'waste of money'.
          quoted from sales man.

Hi amylqf, what did the salesman mean by use \"correctly\"?

Would u know if it helps astigmatism too?

            Thanks!

when you see far, use the middle lense. when you see book, see from the bottom. if you also see book by using the center of the lense, then no use. might as well use the normal cheap lense.

sorry, never ask him about astig.

\"slow down myopia progression in children by up to 30 per cent \" implies myopia will still increase but at a slower pace. Up to 30 percent means can be zero, or any number between that and 30. Then again who are to say what would be the normal speed and what would be slower? :?

Service means to bring them to him to do cleaning, checking. Once, one of the lenses had a small chip, and Andrew detected it and replaced it (with cost). Cleanliness is very important.

We use B&L lotions. We spend about $12 a bottle, and can last a month or two (for 4 kids). Do you 'fill up' the container? I just make sure the lenses are 'covered', that saves a lot.

As to age to start: DS2 started at 8. Not sure if you can start younger, because it really depends on the sensitivity of the child, and whether she/he can be taught to put on the lenses.

thought they had 2 groups - one on normal lenses and the other with the new type? and that's how they come to that conclusion?

but true, slow down is just that - doesn't mean prevent or improve.
