Thanks hquek, I don't think she want to ship back any clothes etc.. just that she keeps buying and her luggage is getting too heavy. I did warn her about the extra charges but she don't seem to mind so ive done my part warning her that she may be overloaded. thanks again for the infomoonee:
my maids luggage is very heavy, she chose LIOn air. (Indonesia) Am I required to pay for the extra weight on her luggage shes accumulating every month before she leaves. She spends like near 150 dollars on clothes, souvenirs etc after recreiving her salary.
I heard of helpers who ship their stuff back prior to their return home and think she may want to use that route. Show her the contract and tell her you are only liable to send her home, not her things. I don't think it's reasonable for you to bear extra weight on luggage - she has to be aware how much she can carry and plan accordingly. She's an adult (that's what HOME says), and has to be responsible for her own purchases.
For mine, I would tell them how much luggage they are allowed to check in, know what they can't carry on board (eg batteries not in check in bags, no fluids in carry on). We would let them weigh their bags at home to be sure they didn't exceed, and tell them any extra is on them.

Hi to all
Just sharing....
You can never know what domestic workers do behind your back when you are not at home.... -
My helper contract is due for 2 years, we are considering to renew her because she is honest thatโs the only plus point.her work below standard from my past 3 helpers, she is very slow in doing the housework, I need to help her to do housework during weekend at times, our house only have 3 persons, she refused to change when I told her to do some efficient way to do her work, she also does not want to work with us if we are having newborn baby, furthermore she is having pre-existing condition keloid which she never tell us before we told her that we are going to renew her. She mentioned that she need to get some injection which it will cost her about $160 (the $ was 8 years ago when she was working with her previous employer, she went back home 8 years ago and stay in Indo for 6 years before she come to Singapore 2 years ago to work with us, during her 2 year she did not tell anything about her keloid, her keloid was the reason why her previous employer sent her back home (in my view) she did not admit it when I asked her).
Question:
Should I renew her with the fact above?
Should I pay for her keloid treatment which it may cost double now?
Is keloid treatment consider as cosmetic treatment?
Iโm in dilemma now.
Thanks -
I had an ex-maid who also had keloid which needed steroid injections monthly. She was a capable helper. I paid for the injections.

She did it at National Skin Centre. It was like 10 years ago.
She was already receiving treatment there when she joined me, so I just continued. -

If a maid is honest and willing to work, I will give it super plus points. If she is slow/inefficient, then it just eat into her rest time - hope she knows in time to come.

I think keloid is considered cosmetic. Steriod injections will help to bring the keloid down but it will slowly grow back. I understand some GPs offer this but not sure if all do - I did with a GP many many years back. -
