All About Home Addresses

Hi All,
I am a newbie to the local primary school selection and would like to enroll my son born in 2011 to Temasek Primary School. I lived in Bedok South for all my life and my parents are still living there. However, I bought an EC and moved to Pasir Ris last year. I have plans to move back to Bedok South after my 5 years compulsory living in an EC.
Q1. Can I register my son application to my parent’s address?
Q2. If not, is there a way I can appeal? Do i appeal to the school or MOE?
Thanks for all feedback!
Regards,

There isn't any appeal, since Registration is transparent to all parents who register their child in.
There is only balloting, for popular schools within 1 km.
Temasek primary is a popular school, require balloting for Sg citizen children, less than 1 km under Phase 2C (open to public)
But the moment u start using your parent's address to register your kid, registration rule automatically classify u come under 1-2 km distance range, even if yr parent's house is physically located right beside the popular primary school right at the very door step, less than 1 km.
No point using your parents address to register for Temasek primary, since balloting required for SC, within 1 km.
Anything outside 1 km : no chance to ballot, for Temasek
For those balloting less than 1 km for Temasek in Phase 2C -
If the balloting fail, parents can fill up a Waitlist form, submit to school after the balloting exercise end.
If no vacancy : have to wait patiently until end of P2 or P3, for vacancy to arise
Since u stay in Pasir ris, can enrol your child around your neighborhood.
Guide your child do well in P1/P2, then seek Transfer to Temasek primary at end of P2, showing them your child's good results, good character like role model pupil award, other achievement certificate.
You may waitlist at more than one primary school.
There is no limit to the number of schools u wish to waitlist, for Transfer
Example
Besides Temasek primary, u may also waitlist your child for St Hilda primary (Tampines), Red Swastika (Bedok), Tao Nan (Marine parade)
See which school offer your child, Transfer first -
I would like to know what kind of document is required if I’m renting a place to qualify for distance within 1km from school? I understand that the new rule says we have to stay in the rented place for at least 30 months from P1 registration but does that mean our tenancy agreement must also be signed for 30 months? Does MOE need us to furnish the tenancy agreement when we register our kids using a rented home address? Appreciate any advice and thanks in advance.

For rental, no documents, the address need to be reflected on your IC. (i.e go police station to update your address on IC). During the 30 mths, if you change your address on IC again, that will reflect the break in 30 mths rule.
For yet to TOP residence, you need to provide your purchase agreement. -

But if due to unforeseen circumstances, what is the process for seeking permission from MOE/School for moving to another place? What if the new place is also within 1km of the school? Some landlords do not want to sign for such a long contract period...aloyboy:

If we rent a place within 1km to the desired school and we do stay in the same rented place for the entire 30 months, can we move to another place which is not within 1km of the school after the expiry of the 30 months?Tendertail:
