Hi all! I was from the Class of 2015, just started JC 1 in RI. I have a lot of assessment books/reference texts for Y1-4 that I am letting go FOC because I have no one to pass to + I don't want them to go to waste.

If anyone is interested please drop me a PM and I'll send you a link to the doc that I have created with images of the books that I have, so if your daughter(s) are interested just let me know and we can arrange to meet up to pass the books. Thank you! 🙂

How is shooting CCA in RGS?

        From a Friend:
Shooter from rgs here haha. In shooting we train using 2 types of guns the rifle and the pistol. You don't get to choose which gun you want (its based on the trials) and basically we take turns shooting at the lanes, and we have breaks in between sessions where the shooters can talk or do work or sleep (this time is important for us to bond with our cca mates, as training time is individual) Although we are a sports cca, we do much less physical activities compared to other sports ccas haha (we still have to do short physical trainings though!)

Hopefully this gives you a better insight on RGS shooting!! :))
When is shooting competition taking place? When is the peak season for shooting? Who r the top 4 shooting schools in Singapore?
Hi alng,

Thanks for your reply! Should be ok to go for about 4-5 trials? My girl doesn't really want to join uniform group since it is compulsory to put 1 UG, can don't go for the trial right.;p

Yes can go for as many trials as she wishes.

Totally agree w alng. Go as many as she likes.

To secure yr favourite CCA is not easy as there are many girls also vying for the same.
UG is compulsory and yr girl is required to attend the trial.

But having said, my girl told me that UG has its own fun filled activities which the girls enjoy too.
Agree with GiftedGem.

Actually UG is not a bad choice. Among all CCAs, many of them require to have strong background in it (i.e. many DSA students sports CCAs and performing arts). For UG, the girls can really enjoy the activities and do not need to worry about competitions and tournament.

          😄

Power up your future with high quality small group tuition.

I’m a newbie 2016 PSLE mummy and looking at attending RGS open house on 14 May with my gal.

Would like to ask, for parents who drive, does the school allow us to park inside the school? I don’t think there is any public carpark around the school?

waiting inside school compound is only allowed after 3 pm, i believe. can wait along certain parts of the roads outside school. be careful as certain roads e.g. Ardmore road are strictly no waiting. check the signs along the roads.

sorry, answer not appropriate as you were asking about Open House Day parking.

RGS has a very small carpark and uses its assembly ground as carpark after morning assembly. Even if visitors are allowed to park inside the school during the open house, you are unlikely to find a parking lot. For big school event, the school may liaise with the traffic police to allow the cars to park along the road outside the school. Even with that, it is difficult to park at times so we are being advised to car pool to school or take public transport. The nearest carpark is at Shangri-la.
