hubby never studied hanyu pinyin...so when he saw daughter's HYPY name, he freaked out...insisting the name on the PSLE paper was wrong :faint: i already explained that HYPY name has different spelling from dialect name. if not because son has his O level slip of paper pinned on the notice board, he would have gone on and on :slapshead:I thought I signed the PSLE slip of paper to acknowledge subjects taking and Chinese characters are correct?
Good thing that PSLE is FOC (ie no exam fee) -

Chey, you scared me by saying need to acknowledge (prev post). I tot I missed out on something.irabbit,
it's just to inform parents the subjects which the school has registered the child for. A4 size paper. detailed one will be given later. -
iRabbit:
Yes yes! I will definitely pray very hard for this!
Haha, your boy is so thoughtful. In 6 months time, he'll say \"Mummy, just now I saw you in bad mood, so now I give you my results slip to make you happy!\"happyheart:
Received PSLE registration slip today!
DS did not pass to me when I got home. When he gave it to me 5 mins ago, he said\" mummy, just now I saw you in good mood, so don't want to spoil it and stress you\" ..

Hey irabbit, the letter from school accompanying the PSLE slip requested my acknowledgment as well as daughter's name.

He said teacher requested it. He needs to show it to teacher. I have some queries on the slip though, like how come certain components (think oral and LC) for one language are grouped together as 1 paper but not for the other language. Same for science - P1 & P2 are considered as P2. Am checking with teacher if this is correct.

but in daughter's case, it is indicated that i will know if she has access arrangements only in may.

yet to recover from ca1 shock...sa1 exam schedule uploaded on school website :nailbite:
DS already got SA1 timetable during first week of Term 1 :yikes: -

Depends on schools. Most schools will have only 1-2 chapters not taught, and SA1 is all topics from P3-6.janet88:

Hi,
Any parents know whether SA1 covers all PSLE syllabus in your school? Or are there topics yet to be taught by school and hence excluded from SA1? Thanks. -
DS SA1 timetable is out also. No registration slip so far.
As expected his CA1 scores were lack-lustre. School teachers told him and other students in his CCA off for missing classes and producing sub-optimal results for CA1. Those who failed were even threatened by some teachers that they would be banned from playing in future matches.
But it is difficult to produce stellar results when you have a number of matches on exam days. Besides, no effort was made before the exams to help these kids who missed lessons and has less time to revise. After all they are playing for the school, no? IMHO yelling at them after the results come back is actually not very useful.
We have put this behind us. March hols is a time for rest, watching Zootopia and Kung Fu Panda 3 and hopefully doing a bit of work on the weaker areas.
Take care all and happy March hols!!!
