Yes, the ballet rehearsal and extra practice are taking too much time away from her revision. Not surprised that her CA1 didn't do as well as she would like to but that's life.
Thankfully, CA1 is about 10% of overall score so there is not much loss if doesn't do well for CA1.

      Yes, agree
The twice a week ballet training is taking up far too much of our children time, leaving very little time for them to revise Term 1 work, as the kids are very tired, after twice a week tiring practice.

My friends daughters' CA1 in their primary schools also 10%, same as yours.
Though 10 % may seem little, but the amount of time & effort put in by their kids to prepare for CA1, is a lot.

Ballet training will get more intensive towards exam grading period. Therefore, to commit to ballet, it must be the child's interest to learn. Otherwise, no point to continue to learn if the child has lost interest.

Hi, I wish to find out more about ballet teacher Ms. Chua.

One of my girl’s classmate mum strongly recommend this ballet teacher and phtthp also mentioned about her before. I am in the midst of searching for a new ballet school for my daughter as the current one keeps changing teacher. I am considering Ms. Chua and if you do have experience with this teacher, I hope you can drop me a PM. Thank you.

Ballet (Majors) Intermediate vs. Ballet (Majors) Intermediate Foundation ?

The difference is the complexities and requirements for each grades, just like the 8 graded examinations from Grade 1 to 8. The five vocational grades for Ballet Majors are (1) Intermediate Foundation, (2) Intermediate, (3) Advanced Foundation (4) Advanced 1 (5)Advanced 2.

Is your DD alright now? Hope she is well enough for her exam tomorrow. Good luck.

Thanks Oh my Gosh. My DD’s fever comes and goes, then comes back again after a few hours. Her ballet school said there is no replacement exam but I was told to bring my DD to a doctor and get a MC. With that, if she takes the exam tomorrow, the examiner will be more lenient considering she is unwell. Alternatively, if she really can’t dance tomorrow, I can also get a refund of the exam fee. Will see how it goes tomorrow.

Did you sign up for RAD Summer school? There is also a CSTD Summer school in Jun. Both seems interesting and I will ask my DD if she’s keen.

Hope she will be well enough to take the examinations, after all the girls have all been training so hard for the examinations. Which grade is your girl doing?

DD ballet teacher passed her the RAD Summer School application form, hence my asking here if it is a useful venue as it stretches over 5 days and each lesson is about 4 hours :yikes: My girl is doing the RAD exam syllabus so I am unlikely to sign her up for the CSTD Summer School.

I woke up at 5am to give her the paracetamol so when she woke up at 8am, she was well. Her exam ended at around 11am. The girls commented this is by far the best examiner, very friendly and makes them relax. The 4 of them came out from the studio beaming with delight. My girl is grade 2. She could not take G1 exam last year due to under age.

She is interested to enrol for the RAD Summer school. I forget to ask the teacher if she should sign up as grade 2 or grade 3. Later will call the school to enquire.
