All About Parent Volunteers (PV)
-
hi,
I am new here, and would like to know more bout parent volunteering. I am considering CHIJ Kellock, do they accept PVs? could not find any portal/forms on their website…
I am staying in Queenstown.
also, do you think I should even consider HPPS? with no alumni, link whatsoever… my dd is 2012 baby… I guess it is about the right time to start? -

Dragon baby... The balloting will be fast and furious... Need to plan carefully to increase your chance of getting in your preferred school in Phase 2B. :scared:hi,

hi
need some advise here. my boy is 2012 baby and I’m planning to get him in either Mee Toh or Edgedale Primary due to distance…
I wanted to find out more on the alumni/ affiliation of Mee Toh but can’t find any.
I saw that the PV for last year started in Jul. Any advise on being a PV?
Edgedale doesn’t practice PV as I don’t see that in their website.
what else should I be preparing at this stage?
TIA! -
Dear successful PV of Rulang Primary and Nan Hua Primary School,
could you please share with me how you managed to get selected for pv for both schools? Would you be kind enough to PM me as i need to submit by this week.
Would need to come out with proposals for both schools on special project for Rulang as well as Nan Hua.
Thanks so much…really appreciate it -

One question from my side:
Why are parents required to volunteer at some private schools? -

hi there,
I want to check when is the usual period the PV notice is out for Hong Wen Primary school. My son is going to P1 in 2017 and wishes to register to PV for Hong Wen.
Also do we still need to go thru' ballot if we done sufficient PV?
Thanks in advance.
 You are way too late to ask this this question now .... PV application should have completed not later 1 July 2015, and at least 40 hours of PV needs to be completed by June of the application year (i.e June 2016 for your case).
Yes balloting is still required if the numbers of applicants are more than vacancies
my mistake. my boy is going to P1 in 2018. Still in time for PV?
When is Hong Wen launch their PV application?
TIA -
Hi Airyair
For 2015 P1 Registration Exercise for Admission to Primary 1 in 2016: Application no later than 30 June 2014.
So if I did my math correctly.
For 2017 P1 Registration Exercise for Admission to Primary 1 in 2018: Application no later than 30 June 2016.

Please call school to confirm. Good luck.
