      Hi E3,

Just curious, what were your responsibility for PV then ?

      Dorisp,
I would suggest you write in to the school to apply to be PV first. PV responsibilities are different for everyone and depends greatly on what the school wants PVs to do.

Yup, it was a great start...had PV meeting with principal before CNY...principal told us staying within 1km is actually confirmed. Hubby did most of the PV. He had a good feel after each Sat and was convinced that Pei Hwa had a good culture and environment.

                    Hi Donkey,

Another friend of mine told me her son also followed her, day dreams or else plays with toys the moment she walked out of the room. Or else will keep asking, 'Mummy, what do I do now?'

No choice, have to revise daily right ? If you wait for the exam time-table, 求η₯ž also no use, oral and compo would have started already.

                    Dion,
Actually the teachers in Pei Hwa do teach OR ELSE I would have gone nuts. I've heard of some popular schools where teachers do not teach bcos they assume kids go for enrichment lessons.
It's very different now from before, when kids get to play once homework is completed.

I read up son's textbook and then revise using assessment book...after marking it, will explain where he went wrong. I am a SAHM.
                    Janet,

Yes . Sure teachers do teach at school. Because their performance will graded accordingly to how well the class performs. Just like other gov sector, all poor performance got to be answerable.

                      Does this apply to PH?

Am thinking of PV at Pei Hwa too.......staying more than 2km away. Can anyone share their experience of PV at Pei Hwa? πŸ˜„

                        Hi Dorisp,

I'm currently volunteering at PH. This yr there were 20 of us selected, out of 100+ applicants I was told. We were told by the sch's mgt that they intentionally limit the no. of PV so as to ensure that those selected have a good chance of getting thru w/o balloting.

As far as I can tell, most of us (the PV) are either your average PMET or SAHP. Depending on personal interest, we are either assigned to help out in sports day, uniformed groups, excursions, admin work or even some forms of presentation to students (for those with niche skills).

From my observation, what I liked is that the sch does not focus solely on academic excellence. Of course we know that studies is impt. I noted that attention is also given to other areas so that students can pursue their personal interests, outside of studies. πŸ˜„

Side track a bit. One interesting pt is that in the past, it was relatively easier - compared to other 'hot' sch - to get into PH due to the low population density aound it. However, currently 2 new private developments are being built in that area and I wonder how this will impact the balloting pattern in the near future.
