Any Updates As To When PSLE T-Scores Will Be Scrapped?

Allocate base on citizenship, Singaporean will have priority?
CCA - can follow LEAPS 2.0 CCA Grading Scheme
https://www.moe.gov.sg/docs/default-source/document/education/secondary/files/leaps.pdf
If awarded MOE Edusave Character Award (ECHA), also can get points
CIP hours also can gain points
Actually, you raised some good suggestions.
I'm wondering if they could borrow some ideas from the SkillsFuture@PA scheme meant for working/non-working adults.
Some people expressed concerns wrt unequal enrichment opportunities available to students from lower income families. They may not have the money to attend expensive exotic enrichment courses like their well-heeled peers, and will be greatly disadvantaged, after the (rumoured) CCA grades & non-academic abilities for DSA are included. So why not:
1. Synergise with People's Association (PA) and offer some affordable or even FOC enrichment programmes for such under privileged students, using the same Edusave Bursary eligibility criteria such as annual household income of $6k.
2. Then give them some \"Holistic Enrichment Credits\" (like ActiveSG credits) so that they can go to PA Community/Grassroots Clubs to sign up for non-academic courses (piano, art, ballet, badminton, violin, guzheng, programming, robotics, chess, TKS, wushu, judo), not offered by their schools.
This may or may not be made compulsory as it's outside of school curriculum, but at least offer them an avenue which is both FOC and in their immediate neighbourhood, not like in some downtown shopping malls. FT could play a more active role by encouraging them to sign up for such subsidised enrichment courses to widen their horizon or expand their skills. The Credits shall not be encashed and unutilised credits shall not be refunded.
3. Encourage more private training providers to run courses for this purpose by allowing them to tap on the Skills Development Fund.
4. If Community Clubs have run out of space as some private enrichment centres like Tien Hsia or Mindstretcher have taken up the retail space, go work out with SAFRA Club or Home Team Club or SSC or reconfigure void decks or vacant school campuses.
5. Students who don't meet the household income criteria of $6k may also apply, subject to availability of timeslots.
You won't have this problem if you don't place too much emphasis on non-academic abilities. :siam: -

hmmm..set up new dept for retired sch leaders to come out new psle tweaks
Coz it can create additional employment out of nothing?pirate:
Now, why would MOE bother doing such a pointless thing?

[/quote]Is that why they got an ex-NTUC man to be Minister of Education?

I've seen more complex prog (for govt) being rollout in a fraction of the above duration. I believe the difficult part is not in the development of the prog but in determining the algorithm (by MOE).
Another important thing that requires \"testing\" is the computer system/software. They probably need lead time to call for tender for IT firms to come forth to bid for the monumental job to overhaul the entire IT system, tweak the current O-level scoring parameters, or create a completely new software for the computation of raw scores for s1 posting (and/or balloting) purposes. This takes maybe at least 18 -24 mths, conservatively speaking?
And I donch think they need white mice. They can migration those XX years of S1 posting data and use it to analyse the new prog....compare the actual outcome of past S1 posting against what they wanted to achieve from the new prog. -

you mean OYK? sorry i have no idea what he used to do.

NCM is fresh from army...throwing him into Education is like getting him to learn survival swimming in deep pool...a bit scary to have a newbie taking a hot portfolio. -

Learning Lab should start a programme for boys to 'Ace the Leadership Selection'. In this course, you will learn how to behave, how to impress.

Why boys only? There're some guai boys in all boys schools too.
Teachers and DM should attend \"How to Accurately Identify Future Leaders\" course as part of their staff training programme organised by MOE. :rotflmao:
Most of the time, primary school prefects, head prefects or vice prefects may not end up becoming successful leaders in the corporate world. It's the notti, rules defying rascals who may shine later in adulthood. They are more charismatic, people-oriented and can move masses and get pp's mandate easily. Goody two shoes are usually the Yes-men, conformists who are inherently subservient and introverted.
The self-nominated JC student councillors who ran for council elections are usually the ones who become real leaders in the real world. -
It sounds to me the change is just change the soup but not the medicine, ζ’ζ±€δΈζ’θ―. Changing the form but not the substance is totally not a change at all. Why can't MOE learn from Taiwan and Hong Kong that move away such national exam in such young age. Like US, everyone go from junior to high school before the final SAT or university exam. University certification makes a lot of difference to one path in adulthood. Whether the change is on DSA or on PSLE score, I'm hit by both. Both children fall in 2017-2020 batch and 2021 batch onward. double whammy for me. :imdrowning:

ultimately itβs still because of the secondary school posting which requires PSLE grades. changing from present decimal to ABC grading is no difference. the syllabus is not getting easier too.

Hard for the guai ones be leaders - they are good at maintaining status quo, though. -

Factoring in the GeBiz timeline, red tape, MOE Budget approval here...I'm not an expert in IT algorithm, coding. I was involved in an overhaul which came in a few Phases. Took at least 2 years of ding dong with main vendor, sub-contractors, coordination with diff departments. Not sure how long it would take in this case, now that they're facing a chronic shortage in ICT experts, since many FT have left. Might cost more to get this scoring software out? But they have 5 yrs.

\"white mice\" could also refer to students affected by minor tweaks to DSA rules (possibly incl. geppers with merely general abilities), prior to 2021.
Anyway, will hear more in 2-3 mths' time he said, didn't he?
