Any Updates As To When PSLE T-Scores Will Be Scrapped?

It's the fine-grained T-score that's making some parents from dunno where stressed out.
Why should the 259 abalone get into HCI when my 256 prawn is also not bad leh? We should be in the same mixed pot!

for the new banding system (impact PSLE 2021 batch, & after) :
on PSLE certificate, besides printing out the actual Band score (eg : print out (3A1, 1B) or 4A1 or (2A1, 2B) combination onto PSLE cert, etc), is it possible also to print out the Total Raw score, for 4 subjects ?
(since no more T-score, but Raw score still there)

this way, info become more Transparent to P6 students/parents:
at least P6 student know how he/she achieved his/her own (3A1, 1B) score combination, or 4A1 combination, etc : since A1 band is so wide range (from 75 to 100, spanning over a broad range of 25 marks difference)

are they going to use the existing O level score system, or fine tune even further, like breakdown at every interval of 10 marks, say -
91 to 100 : fall under A1 band ?
81 to 90 : A2 band
71 to 80 : A3 band
(something like that)


if fine tune by every 5 marks interval, grain even more fine :
96 to 100 : A1 band
91 to 95 : A2

86 to 90 : A3
81 to 85 : A4

76 to 80 : A5,

then the B band, C band, D band follow, etc

so far, primary schools have Wushu Cca, but no 咏春
will be good, if primary schools can start 咏春 Cca

Hmm... I don't have any stats but usually in upper primary and JC, quite a few the boys who were quite playful and immature in the lower secondary , start to show a marked change. They go on to get serious about their acads and competitive and show a jump in their results. Something to do with puberty and awakening ok ok I :spank: myself

Just curious, top schools usually are highly sought after. Don’t forget, mixing prawns & har bee together in a big pot also could mean for every har bee they take in, they have to let go 1 lobster or 1 abalone. How many parents can take it when their lobster cannot get into RI/HCI/ACSI/NUSH etc (child’s dream school) due to limited seats taken up by har bees and not because their children don’t qualify

Many parents are ‘Is ok, cannot go top school, 2nd tier also good, nearer to home, not so competitive, then my child will have more opportunity to shine, lower school fees, etc.’

But when their child performs well, they will be ‘Don’t opt for top school is like wasted huh? School brand is still important, will look good in their records.’ Can or cannot cope, enter first then think how to solve the coping problem.
So ultimately parents will still push their kids to perform well, set a higher goal for the children to achieve.
Even in tier 2, 3, 4 schools, there will still be ranking, the type of students in the school, the Principal, the teachers, the location of the school, etc.
Hence, in order to let their child enter the parents’ choice of schools, many will still push the child to achieve good results and try to groom them to be above others to increase their chances of entering their desired school.
So whatever systems we have, we will encourage our child to achieve excellency and stress will still be present.
I would think if these 12-yo kids can take the challenge, they can soar higher. Parents need to do balancing, take care of their own expectations of their own kids. When your kid cannot run fast, you don’t stop other kids to slow down.
Instead give your child full support and tell your kid even if he/she is not the winner, in the parents’ view, our own child will always be the winner in any aspect.

But many parents think their kids are lobster. Force feed the haybees to look like baby lobster. But then discover later haybee is still haybee, and no matter how force feed also cannot grow as big as a lobster. Then lagi more stress.

PSLE T-scores cannot tell the difference between force fed haybee and baby lobster. The abalone probably kena thrown away because don't even look like the same kind of creature.

Not always true coz many lobsters are not very likeable...n some hay bee has charisma

And many more lobsters shun leadership position / roles. Whether charisma or curry smell, they should taste good in curry
