Yes... can.com.sg is pretty much the best way of finding the nearest school to your address. Holy Innocents is definitely better than Monfort. If it is within 2km to you, you should go for it even if it means balloting. -
Hi, does anyone know the student profile of Ai Tong ? Is it an elitist school ?
or the profile is more of middle class/neighbourhood ?
I heard Xin Min is pretty good too. I only live 2 bus stops away. Am still considering it since I expect bus fares to go up considerably from next year onwards. Unfortunately, seems like there was balloting last year for those living < 1 km. My friend’s son got in 2006 without balloting. -
I don’t think Ai Tong is an elitist school, if you compare to the likes of say, SCGS or ACS. Having said that, where Ai Tong is located, there are more private housings than HDB flats.
I can’t comment on Xinmin as I have not heard much about the school.
I do know Ai Tong has quite a lot of buses, thus able to ply many routes in Singapore. I know there are students in Ai Tong who stays in Pasir Ris, and take the school bus. So, for your case, then transportion is not really a problem. -
Holy Innocent conducts balloting under Phase 2C for those living < 1km. If you live beyond 1 km, you wouldnt stand a chance.
The success rate is 70%. -

 which means I got no chance cos mine is between 1 and 2km distance from Holy innocents..unless I shift a few streets nearer to the school.. if not, just settled with monfort junior?
btw, was thinking of using my parent's address in jurong for consideration of Rulang Pri too..but heard need to ballot too..
