wow, hard work under the heat. But well worth the effort.E3,
Hubby & I volunteered our services for son's excursion yearly. It was a great way to know his classmates, how he behaves and interacts with them and also his teacher. Last year, there was this modular CCA (swimming lessons 4 straight days in a row from 9-1pm)...we were roasted under the sun even though I piled on sunblock.
How do you volunterred to help in the excursion? How many parents actually helps out during each excursion? -
Hi Prisnkc,
There was 1 excursion last yr to Coins Museum...son volunteered on my behalf. I didn't even know until teacher called to thank me. :!:
Another excursion he volunteered my name was in P2 to Jacob Ballas Garden. Told my son jokingly to volunteer on my behalf if excursions are to air-con places...hubby said all those excursions were opportunities to 'burn fats' So last year when teacher asked for PV again...and son volunteered on my behalf, I pulled hubby along.
2 parents help out each time...finished chalking up 40 hours, so doing this to get close to son and his friends. -
janet, thanks for the info

do they have excursions/field trips for the P1s too? if yes, when does the school run the excursion? ooh, it'll be so nice to break the monotony of school life once in a while:) -
hi dion,
i concur with what's been said abt being hands-on with our children's learning. They always deserve better whatever the quality of the teachers. also we need to realize that good teachers does not guarantee thorough absorption... this is hopefully where we come in:)
p1 is easy-peasy. go thru her activity books and worksheets to get a feel of how well she is faring, then reinforce her weak areas. then test her with some assessment questions. for now, things are still a breeze with us (little 1 in p1), although i get a wee bit nervous thinking about p2:p
let us in on the good news with your pv application ya:) -
Northernlights, my dd went to the zoo sometime in Sept last year. I thought u have a P1 boy, not girl. Oops.
-
Northernlights,
Son went to zoo in P1…that’s about all I can remember. For P2, he had 2 excursions.
Mummies,
Let us know how your P1 application turn out. I hope you successfully manage to register your children in Pei Hwa. -
Hi, I wrote in to Pei Hwa last year applying to be a PV for 2012 P1 registration (2005 kid). I received an acknowledgement from them that they received my application but to date, I have yet to receive any confirmation from them about whether I am successful or not. I called them earlier this year and the person who answered told me that they will let us know only Aug/Nov of this year. They also don’t seem to have a closing date for PV applications.
Just wondering, for parents who got in to Pei Hwa via the PV route, when do they normally let you know if you are selected for PV?
On a bit of a tenterhooks as I need to know what to do next if not selected for their PV. -

Hi Funz, I'll pm you on the details of the dates and process. However, I have a hunch that they will attend to the PVs for 2010 and PVs-to-be for 2011 registrations first and put yours on hold for the time-being.Hi, I wrote in to Pei Hwa last year applying to be a PV for 2012 P1 registration (2005 kid). From my own experience, my DS is due to register for P1 this July. I got the acceptance letter only in Sept 2009. I applied in Sept 2008 so that was a long wait for me.Just wondering, for parents who got in to Pei Hwa via the PV route, when do they normally let you know if you are selected for PV?
