Life is precious, every day counts, can drag how long then drag how long.

I know of a lady who was diagnosed with stage 3 breast cancer after her son’s PSLE. She dragged on with the objective to see her son grown up and be independent. The moment the son got into Uni, she sort of lost the will to fight and passed on very quickly after that.

When we are old, we are going downhill and it is just how long we reach the end by dragging.

Stage 1 and stage 2 cancer, high chances of recovery.

People I have seen with stage 3 and stage 4, passed on very fast!
It depends. Some can survive longer, even with stage 4. I know a lady who has had multiple cancers in so many organs we have lost count. It started more than 10 yrs ago, up and down again and again, but is still around. In fact, she has been better the past 2-3 yrs and has even taken a part-time job! She is a very lovely, cheerful lady (of course does get \"down\" sometimes).

Another lady, with stage 4 breast cancer, went into some kind of remission for a few years before it recurred. Although the cancer is still there, and is still stage 4, she seems quite well and cheerful too.

I think it also has something to do with the will power to fight cancer. Some I knew, just gave up and passed on within months, maybe the thought of exorbitant medical fees and long term suffering made them lose the will to fight on.

Part of this increase is better diagnosis. 30-40 years ago, many cancers would be undetected until the final stages, and the patient would die fairly quickly. Now, with earlier diagnosis and better treatment, cancer sufferers will be around undergoing treatment or between treatments for years. Also, in the past, more people would die from things like Hep B, typhoid, TB, pneumonia etc long before any cancer surfaced. I’m not saying that cancer incidence hasn’t increased, just that it may not be as much as it seems.

                        this is true.
Probably I mentioned before that during my check-up earlier, I asked doc why so many pple suffering fr cancer. she said one of the reasons could be due to longevity. As we live longer, there may be more chances for our cells to grow abnormally. In the past, pple died earlier and so such chances may be lower,
She did tell me dementia may be more frightening than cancer.
The hear-say now is 1 in 3 would suffer fr cancer.
