All About Primary Schools' Balloting History

You don't have to be present for the balloting. This year's P1 registration dates have been announced on the websites. I would like to know if the Phase 2C registration is from July 27 to July 29 and the websites state that the results will be announced by Wed Aug 3, when will balloting be conducted? (For the schools that have balloting).
I can't apply for last min leave from work, so if anyone has any idea when balloting may be done, I will be grateful. Don't want to apply for wrong dates and have problems attending balloting if necessary. Thanks in advance.
The school will inform you of the outcome. -

Typically, balloting is held on the results announcement date. I remembered it as a few days before. Anyway, even if you are not there, your chances aren't affected. I didn't attend the balloting coz my kids were at home. -

If you want to attend, please do not bring your kid as it will be traumatizing for him/her if you fail to secure a place. -

Need to get some advices… my gal is going P1 next year and I am contemptaying between Ai Tong and Teck Ghee Pri.
Ai Tong <1km
Teck Ghee 1 to 2km
I am pro ATS n thought to try under phase 2C but if I fail in balloting, likelihood TGPS also full in 2C. Wish to check how is the environment, homework load or teachers in ATS, anyone has kids in there to feedback and share? Thanks! -
Hello everyone, I have a burning question and would very much appreciate if someone can help to answer. My son is enrolling for P1 under Phase 2C on 27 July 2016. We will move into our new house on 22 July 2016. Can I use the my new house address for registering my son's primary school or do I have to use the address as at 30 June 2016*, which is the date of the commencement of the P1 Registration Exercise. Thanks.
* Per MOE website, a child who gains priority admission into a primary school through his/her distance category is required to reside at the address used for registration for at least 30 months from the commencement of the P1 Registration Exercise on 30 June 2016. -

If the school has balloting during your phase, you use the address of the house you must live in for the next 30 months. Change the address to the new address before P1 application.Hello everyone, I have a burning question and would very much appreciate if someone can help to answer. Address is not important if the school you are applying at has no balloting during your phase. -
Hi Cherrygal, thanks for the info. To clarify, based on the past records, the school that I would like to place my son in would require balloting for <1km under Phase 2C. The new house which I am shifting to on 22 July would be within 1km while the house I am staying at now and on 30 June 2016 is >2km away.
I had the impression that MOE will use "30 June 2016" as the cut-off date for address registration to determine proximity to school. So now I understand that the address used is at the point of registration i.e. 27 July 2016 for Phase 2C as long as we live in for the next 30 months?
Am I correct? Thanks -
The new home address can be used provided that you are able to produce evidence from the relevant authority that you have committed to the purchase of this property. In addition, you have to sign a letter of undertaking to move into the new property within two years of the child’s entry into P1.
In the case of private property, you must produce the certified true copy of the Sales and Purchase Agreement. For the 2016 Primary One (P1) Registration Exercise, the date of commitment by the developer in the Temporary Occupation Permit (TOP) must not be later than 31 December 2018.
In the case of Housing & Development Board (HDB) flat, the Customer Copy of the Agreement for Lease is required. For the 2016 Primary One (P1) Registration Exercise, the Delivery Possession Date must not be later than 31 December 2018.
A child who has made use of the TOP or DPD home-distance category priority to secure a place in a school is required to stay at the new address for at least 30 months starting from the time the family moves into the property. For example, if the child registers in 2016 and only moves into the new address in July 2018, the 30 months stay period starts from July 2018.
