Actually I believe HPPS is quite an academic driven school.

Sorry a bit off topic here. RGPS uniform looks better than HPPS uniform.

HPPS is mixed school. Boys may tease/bully girls. One of my dd's friend in her school was a transferred student from HPPS. Transferred due to bullying in HPPS. The girl is happier in an all girls' school now.

Girls in RGPS are very self-confident, self-driven and independent. This is what I have heard. RGPS has very good principal and teachers too. HPPS has a very good principal too.

No. RGPS doesn't select you by distance

I am not able to advise on lower primary as my girl entered RGPS in P4 - P6 (2012 - 2014 ).
As a whole, she enjoyed her learning journey and blessed with teachers who are dedicated and caring. The trs are there to provide hand holding sessions for weaker students with extra classes.

Esp towards PSLE, the trs are pumping alot of efforts to drive the girls to their fullest potentials. Even for simple oral conversation, my girl's HCL tr would point out her strengths and how to tackle those weaknesses. It boosted her confidence level. At one stage, the class did extremely well for P6 Maths and were rewarded with pizzas. These little acts speak volume in motivating the girls.

Be it HPPS or RGPS, stress is an inevitable part and it all depends how the child embraces it.
For my girl, time management is a real challenge as she has to manage due to projects, tests and research datelines.

depend on whether you're refering to Mainstream, or GEP.

                        compare & contrast ...

                        i)
for GEP programme (P4 to P6, Upper level) -
no difference set, between HPPS vs RGPS : since all GEP centre are using the same GEB curriculum, across.

                        the only difference :-
RGPS have 2 GEP classes, whereas HPPS (co-ed school) now only have one GEP class.
(RGPS in the past (become history), used to have 3 GEP classes, while HPPS used to have 2)

                        ii)
for Lower primary (P1 to P3, Mainstream), depend on which of the 4 subjects, you're refering to :-

                        Chinese:
Rgps (Chinese) standard set should be higher than that of HPPS, since from Primary 1, Rgps already start off with Higher Chinese, whereas HPPS doesn't. HPPS P1 do Normal Chinese, unless one day HPPS decide to make changes.

                        English :
no difference, since both schools used Stellar worksheets, to teach English.

as for P3 Science, onwards :-
you can google on internet SA1/SA2 exam questions, check for yourself -
confirm between these 2 schools, which school actually set more number of questions, in both Section A and Section B ?
as well as check the level of difficulty, for qn been set ?

after checking, perhaps feel free share with us your thoughts : which school's Science standard set do you think, is higher, or no difference ?

for you, best is to :
enrol your daughter into the school, that doesn't require you to ballot, for peace of mind.
if you ballot at Phase 2C but fail at balloting, end up need to enrol your daughter into a Phase 2C Supp school.
