Yeah lor. People like maids and cleaners belong to the ‘invisible’ members of society. We frequently ignore their existence. But sometimes we forget that they are humans too, with feelings and social needs. And loyalty too.

I'm sorry to be the \"bad guy\" here, but did the SMRT bus speed at her, or did she make a bad judgement in crossing the road at that time??? Jaywalking with a baby?

The new paper reported that her employers did not inform the maid’s family of her accident or death - 3 days later. The agent of the maid is trying to raise $10,000 for the deceased’s family.

I felt so sad for her family which lost a daughter and a bread-winner.

I also read that she wasn't carrying the 1yo, but the 1yo was walking in front of her, so when she was knocked down, she'd just pushed the 1yo forward.

Scary lah - 1yo cross road walking instead of being carried. And the parents were behind.

Aiyah, the whole incident sounds like one big accident waiting to happen. But then again, I read that the bus RAN the red light?!!!! *tsk* *faint*.

I dunno… even for our 8 and 9 years old, when we cross road, we would always hold their hands. Not to mention that age…

Nope, what I read from omy (wanbao) was the maid was carrying the 1 yr old. At the critical moment, she threw the bb out.

It's interesting how different newspapers report vastly different facts. Per wanbao, her employers gave $10K to her mother. The agent (should be Indonesian side) drove car for 10 hours to personally inform the maid's death to her family. I suppose that's the cause of the delay in informing the maid's family.
